I'd settle for seeing a meaningful post.

This year the White Sox are 25th in DL days.

Where do the Sox rank in this vs the rest of baseball during this time frame.

You forgot posts worth reading = 0.

This also proves that all posts are not comparable.

Yes. Extremely.

The epic fail was thinking this needed it's own post, let alone it's own thread. There is a section of Soxtalk that needs a binky.

The idea of leaving Kopech down in AAA to play the service time game is absurd. They already are going struggle to justify Eloy, and he only had 2 months in AAA. How are you going to justify send Kopech to AAA for parts of 3 seasons with a straight face?

Good lord people. I get this really really sucks and all, but these hot takes would embarrass Cubs fans. I mean even Donald Trump would think twice before hitting reply on a few of these.

Eloy and Tyler Johnson make the team as well. https://www.mlb.com/news/2018-pipelines-prospect-team-of-the-year/c-293675566?tid=151437456

$500k is simply referring to the price of a player on a first year pre-arb contract. That was not any idea as to what the marginal costs would be, all though I do agree it shouldn't be too much.

Why waste $100 million this year when we could well have a pitcher that is as good or better in our system? A starting pitcher would be the worst possible thing to spend a lot of money on this off season.

Absolutely. The cycle is always like that. You will get the run ups, the M&As (which sounds like where they are now) and then the money dries up and the bubble bursts. Then the clear market leaders takes over, consolidation happens, and you get your couple of companies that survive.

Got it. Interesting. I have not explored this sector at all in the name of full disclosure.

Seems like a bad time period to me with the Trump team in the White House and talking about cracking down again. If they decide to start enforcing federal law in states that have legal status, this could get ugly.

In theory, if you were to be able to generate an extra major leaguer a season at $500,000 per year, replacing someone on the bench at say $3 million a year, that means if the total cost is less than $2.5 million, it is worth it.

He did serve two solid purposes while he was here. He has been an innings eater. He is 5th in MLB, 3rd in AL in IP, and 1st in batters faced. #2 was he has really done some great things with the kids. There have been plenty of anecdotes about him working with specific kids on certain things.

FWIW, he is just over 182 as we speak today.

I wouldn't even go that far. One year with a team option, max. I want control over 2020 so that if the NextGen is ready, Big Game James can sport his game on a beach or golf course somewhere.

Detroits TV broadcast team had some kind of a fight after the Tuesday game in Chicago. https://theathletic.com/508164/2018/09/06/breaking-fox-sport-detroits-mario-impemba-and-rod-allen-involved-in-physical-altercation/

Cy Mays. That dude was always one run better than the team he pitched against no matter how bad he was.

That is awesome. Hopefully the kid stays healthy and keeps building innings next year.
