  1. With the casinos most states have in place, plus the huge need for cash they have in IL, I would bet we see sports gambling in the state in less than 5 years, tops.
  2. If we have learned anything from the first six weeks of this season, it should be to pump the breaks on assuming instant stardom from call ups.
  3. If we get Adam LoRoche out of Matt Davidson, that is a huge bonus.
  4. There is just so much volume of potential starting pitching in this system right how. After the top level guys, it is really hard to get a read on not only who could break out, but if there will be a spot for them.
  5. This. A bad day at the baseball stadium is better than a good day at work.
  6. Let me put it this way, we weren't winning 80 games with Sale, Eaton, Quintana, Jennings, and Robertson all at peak performances. There is no way that steaming pile wins 90 to 95.
  7. One of the wonderful new additions to this boards technology is that you can actually tag someone like so @greg775, so that you can be sure they see a thread.
  8. Even that is perennial all-star level.
  9. With a .950 OPS he'd be almost Mike Trout. He'd be better than Stanton's career average. I think that would be more like Hall of Famer is he did that for the rest of his prime.
  10. https://www.minorleagueball.com/platform/amp/2018/5/13/17349354/3-things-to-know-about-the-rise-of-white-sox-micker-adolfo?utm_campaign=minorleagueball&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&__twitter_impression=true
  11. So everyone in the organization is going to underachieve, except for one guy.
  12. So despite multiple smaller guys in modern time being star players, you are going back 30 years for 1 that did not?
  13. And in exchange they would have given up Rutherford, Clarkin, Polo, Casey Gillespie, and our 2nd and 3rd round picks this year... all so they could be a .500 team.
  14. It doesn't matter what you think.
  15. That still is a bs way to try to call this 3 years.
  16. The more I have read about the players who could be there for the Sox, the more I think my top 3 (not including Mize as he is by all odds 1-1) I want to go with either Madrigral, India, or Bart. I like the fact that all of them have minimal defensive questions, on top of any developmental questions. It would be nice to have our top guy have a position locked down before we worry about turning him into a major leaguer.
  17. It will get better. Just by knowing the proven major league talent we have coming back soon will help a pretty good amount.
  18. Your math is awful. This started with the Chris Sale trade. In terms of played baseball this is in the 2nd month of the second season.
  19. Again none of this should be a surprise. We are in the midst of the low point of things. All of the veteran talent is gone, while barely any of the premium talent is here. Some key guys are hurt, a lot of mediocre guys are playing awful baseball, and we are waiting on the iceberg of talent to hit the south side. Even looking at the micro, the needle is pointing up for the season with Moncada due back in days, Avi and Rodon due back in weeks, and almost all of the systems premium talent having great years. I know some people are extra hormonal because it is Cubs weekend but again this is the process. Rebuilding sucks during the rebuild. It is going to be years before we see real results. Quit freaking out over what is supposed to be happening.
