  1. It works in Chome you just have to go through the steps of enabling it. https://support.digication.com/hc/en-us/art...dows-Macintosh- You have got to go down to the ADD section and specifically add https://www.mlb.com to your ALLOW list. Again, because Flash is a security hazard, it is typically blocked by browsers now and you have to proactively allow or give it permissions for it to work.

  10. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 11:13 AM) https://mobile.twitter.com/TheFourthPeriod/...171218200354817 Wow... Nice deal for the Hawks. 1st, 4th and a prospect. Very nice indeed.
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 10:36 AM) I can simultaneously think that the FBI sucks at their job in general and doesn't pay nearly enough attention to domestic terrorists for ~reasons~ while also thinking that arming teachers (or letting them carry their own guns) is a disastrous and frankly disgusting response to mass shootings. I don't want our schools to be armed camps as if we're in a war zone. Our society should be better than that. We should actually do something to prevent these situations before they happen rather than dumping even more guns into everyone's lives. Arming teachers against people who are willing to kill and be kill, as most mass shooters are, means that maybe only a dozen children are murdered instead of 17 or 24. It's a purely reactive measure, and if you're actually serious, you need to consider all of the ramifications of "MORE GUNS" beyond just stopping a mass shooter event. And, again, it does absolutely f***-all to respond to mass shootings and gun violence in general that happens anywhere else but schools. I love how you apply your leftist talking points to everything, even when it hasn't been said.
  12. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 10:18 AM) That's honestly how I see a post-"arm-the-teachers!"-school-shooting playing out. I don't think you'd do that, but I think that'd be the excuse a lot of people who oppose ever doing anything about restricting guns would turn to. It's not like we don't see that playing out in similar responsibility-offloading situations again and again. What, nobody in the school was armed? Well, we gave Mr. Dead Teacher the opportunity to arm himself to protect him and his students. He must not have valued their lives very much! Let's arm more teachers and talk about Mental Illness, something that's definitely relevant in all mass shootings and will actually have good faith proposals for addressing. The FBI is really good at entrapping people in schemes that the FBI cooks up in the first place. Not so great at proactively finding and stopping people plotting on their own. That is how you are labeling this? And these are the people who you want in charge of school safety. I don't see how you can reconcile your anti-police and establishment stances, while at the same time wanting to leave everything up to them, despite their obvious and repeated failures.
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 10:11 AM) It's a great way of dumping the responsibility on the potential victims. Unless the FBI and police are who you are calling victims here, you are full of it.
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 10:08 AM) So, dont trust law enforcement anymore, train everyone to be a law enforcement officer in a crisis? Law enforcement failed these children literally at every single stage of this incident. We keep getting told to report, report, report. All of the reporting here worked out to 17 kids dead. Kind of hard to have faith in that system that seems to be taking agents buying lunches for families of potential NBA players more seriously than essentially domestic terrorism.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 07:27 AM) So the narrative is people who havent trained would be better suited to doing what professionals couldnt do? Makes total sense And to keep trusting the people who are telling you to trust them to keep you safe apparently.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 25, 2018 -> 02:55 PM) Their training was most likely lacking. I believe the town was called one of the safest in th country so their law enforcement is probably like Andy Taylor in Mayberry. And the odds of your school being attacked are pretty small, so the SRO more than likely was not nearly as on guard as he would have needed to be , which is human nature. If he was on guard all the time at a miminal threat place, most probably wouldn't want him around their kids. If it so easy to arm and train teachers properly, why don't we use the funds and train the people paid to protect not just students, but all of us properly? And do them a favor and cut back on guns, and make it more difficult to get one? Trump was all over increasing the age to purchase, but quickly changed the subject when he found out the NRA was not on board. I wonder what happened to his deal where he couldn't be influenced by special interest money. I don't know if there are stats on this, but I feel like this is exactly where these types of incidents happen most often. I don't recall this really happening in poorer and more urban school systems. It is typically in richer/whiter communities.
  17. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Feb 25, 2018 -> 05:52 PM) And Ynoa gives up another run today. Why he is even on the team let alone getting spring innings is beyond me (when there are actual kids who may contribute in the future who can actually use the work.) And the winner for most premature meltdown based on a spring training performance is...
  18. QUOTE (Nokona @ Feb 25, 2018 -> 02:23 PM) If you're having trouble on Chrome, press the icon next to https: in the address bar; it looks like an i with a circle around it. From there you'll see Flash, change it to "Always allow on this website." The webcast will then work. That's what I was saying the other day. Because of security flaws in Flash, most browsers keep it disabled by default. You have to in and enable it, where as previously the default was for it to be on.
  19. Tough to say "better" as they are both going to be different players. I think Jimenez is going to be more of tradition power hitter, while Yoan is going to be more of a 5 tool kind of guys who brings speed and stretching the bases to the game, and probably won't have nearly the same power as Eloy.
  20. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Feb 26, 2018 -> 09:42 AM) Thanks for sharing. At least it tells me they don't want to just hand the DH role to Davidson. It also tells me that there might be some smoke to the CarGo and Moose connections.

  23. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Feb 25, 2018 -> 09:06 PM) WRONG. The fans who die before the success will have regrets on their deathbeds. All of the 10 year olds out there who have a lifetime of suffering through no world series titles...
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 25, 2018 -> 06:20 AM) It makes it even harder to run with the narrative of trusting unqualified people with a gun as the means of stopping something like this. Actually it makes it much easier, as those who are qualified and trusted are failing.
  25. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Feb 24, 2018 -> 11:42 PM) Instead of arming teachers, why not let the retired vets do the job? I bet they'd be way more than happy to each take a day per week protecting their community schools. Then we honor them and s*** and it's all good. If it involves more funding or volunteers, forget it. Schools have been begging for both for decades, and have gotten not enough of either.
