  1. QUOTE (mac9001 @ Mar 28, 2018 -> 02:47 PM) Might as well throw some of those innings to the guys we have at AA. Like I said, I think they want to keep this group of kids together as much as possible.
  2. MLB Trade Rumors? @mlbtraderumors 2h2 hours ago Rays Release Daniel Hudson https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/03/rays-release-daniel-hudson.html …://https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018...hudson.html …
  3. QUOTE (mac9001 @ Mar 28, 2018 -> 02:39 PM) I'm not particularly pleased with starting 4 guys in Charlotte's rotation that will struggle to get anyone out. They are cannon fodder. They are there until someone needs the spot, and then who cares.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 28, 2018 -> 01:58 PM) Weird, I thought it was Zaleski, which made more sense to me after some of the success he's had recently getting guys under control. I take that back, evidently they haven't updated the MiLB pages. According to the Trib, Zaleski will be at WS. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0116-story.html
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 28, 2018 -> 01:52 PM) Daryl Van Shouwen just tweeted that he's reporting to W-S, which is kinda odd? He was in AAA and majors last year. I wonder if that's becasue they want a specific coach to work with him? Bobby Thigpen is the pitching coach down there. http://www.milb.com/content/page.jsp?sid=t...amp;vkey=roster
  6. Bullpens are so volatile. You need so much to go right for a good bullpen, and to try to remake one on the fly without premier type players in place as anchors is a fools proposition. I have no doubt some of these guys will thrive, but I don't think I can go as far as it being a strength. At this stage you are just hoping for growth from young guys, and maybe some assets pitching their way out of Chicago for more prospects.`

  8. Daryl Van Schouwen?Verified account @CST_soxvan 21m21 minutes ago Tim Anderson (right shoulder) and Delmonico (hamstring) both plan to work out today.
  9. While the Hawks season has circled the drain, it is now prospect time. Sounds like Sikura could debut tomorrow, as well as the new goalie. 670 The Score?Verified account @670TheScore 4m4 minutes ago Blackhawks recall goalie Collin Delia, assign goalie J-F Berube to Rockford
  10. I haven't heard Beer's name in forever. What is his status these days?
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 28, 2018 -> 11:44 AM) What is a white sox guy at this point? Seems like we've gone big on statcast schools. We have been avoiding players with big athletic tools that lacked hitting polish. But that's a last 2 years trend. And last year all "trends" were pointing to us and Jerren Kendall. We grabbed Burger and then a bunch of good contact/power guys with little positional versatility and then college relievers. I could see madrigal fitting into this "best hitter available" mold we've ridden with, or this year we go big with athleticism to round out our minors (in both pitcher and hitter build) That is a great question. It really has changed so much from year to year in the last few years.
  12. Much like Michael Kopech last year, he needs to get to 150 innings before we start talking about him being a major leaguer.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 28, 2018 -> 10:29 AM) I'm not that surprised by Charlotte. I think they want to avoid being forced to press up a future prospect, so they want filler guys like Volstad available for spot starts. Am surprised that they put Clarkin at AA and not Dunning. That said I bet it shakes out fairly quickly. They may have told him to get more under control while he pitches and purposely disappointed him to see how he handles. Where is adolfo? DH in W-S? I'm not against challenging Rutherford. I think he was too complacent about his failure last year and they want to show him that everything is advancing around him. Disappointed about curbelo but i bet it shakes out fairly quickly. I also think they want our catchers to be familiar with these more likely future pitchers in AA. ANd set up a AA team that can have some on field success. They also seem to have adopted the philosophy of keeping kids together where ever they can.
  14. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Mar 28, 2018 -> 10:35 AM) Cordell I think. If we are talking about all of the system, my pick would be either Cordell or RP.
  15. I think Jimenez isn't up until September at least. Kopech will be up first for sure.
  16. Surprise: Adam Engel hits a respectable number and shows some power Disappointment: Lucas Giolitto, some redflags in his numbers last year Dark Horse: I know it isn't a major leaguer, but this is the year that the Latin American program starts to see some movement up the rankings lists.
  17. I am not sure who posted this on the temp board, but this is good stuff so I am copy/pasting it over here: There was a conference call yesterday with Chris Getz and FutureSox tweeted out some of the news: AAA: Kopech will obviously be in this rotation. No other big prospects in this rotation to start the season (see AA comments). AA: Stephens, Adams, Guerrero, Puckett, & Clarkin will start the season in the rotation. Hansen will join the staff once he finishes his throwing program (timing TBD). Jimenez, Collins, & Zavala will be there on the positional side. A+: Dunning will start 2018 in this rotation. The OF to start the season will be Rutherford, Basabe, Call, & Booker. Robert will start start his season here when healthy and be the primary CF. Extended: Curbelo will start 2018 here to get regular at-bats.
  18. This is the highpoint of the season.
  19. Daryl Van Schouwen‏Verified account @CST_soxvan 20m20 minutes ago Luis Robert said he felt "relaxed and comfortable at the plate." Relaxed and comfortable is how he's looked these first 2 weeks of camp -- at the plate, in the field, on the bases, in the clubhouse.
  20. Daryl Van Schouwen‏Verified account @CST_soxvan 11s11 seconds ago Reynaldo Lopez gave up one hit (this bloop), walked 2 and struck out 2 in 2 innings. Sox are up 6-1, Dunning pitching
  21. All of MLB wore hats from Stoneman Douglas HS in Florida last week, and those hats are now up for auction. Here is the link to the White Sox specific hats. https://auctions.mlb.com/iSynApp/allAuction...304651-55416567

  23. Six Point Southside‏ @SixPointCWS 21m21 minutes ago Luis Robert exits the game after a collision with... Fernando Tatis Jr. You know, I was just starting to think, "This Spring Training is going TOO well!" Tatis being looked at by a trainer, remains in the game.

  25. QUOTE (Two-Gun Pete @ Mar 1, 2018 -> 12:08 PM) Actually, I brought it up in post #38, & not since then. (Double-checking, & there's no mention by me in either post #49, nor in post #54; I see where you've not only mentioned it twice, but you found several references to defend Engel at all costs.) Since post #38, I've agreed with you where I can. But since it appears you want a message board "win," here: Let's even ASSUME that Engel is the best defender, EVAR! Do you think he'll hit enough to not be a negative to his team mates? His hit tool has always been the primary red flag, as has been stated in pretty much every post about Engel. Again, not sure what groundbreaking we are doing here.
