  1. Ha, I now feel validated.
  2. I don't know where we stand this year, but it sure feels like we lead the world in GIDPs.
  3. Looking at it, I do not believe so.
  4. I haven't messed with the icons, but i know in the past with the smilies, we always avoided the overly negative ones, more as an effort to keep things a bit more community and a little less bitter. I know that other things are said and done, but it is a small thing to try to avoid contributing to that.
  5. Great first inning for Lopez. No one reaches, and he retires the side on 9 pitches.
  6. For those who think getting a facebook or message post deleted is a violation of freedom of speech, THIS would be as clear of a first amendment violation as you can get. It would also be a violation of freedom of the press. But we should only be upset about the loss of our second amendment rights.
  7. My dad has almost exactly the scenario described happen to him. He was in his mid 40's at the time, and not in his mid 20's. He had a nasty partial tear and just walking along went down like someone had hit him with a baseball bat a couple of months later.
  8. Ugh. Sounds like a worst case scenario. Poor kid. Hopefully he heals up, but that doesn't sound good at all.
  9. This. I mean we can sit here and name player after player after player who was not an instant star, but after some work finally had the switch go on for them. Some even take years for it to happen. There is a reason that these kinds of rebuilds take as long as they do. Again, if you are trying to make is through this pitch by pitch and AB by AB, you are doing it wrong.
  10. Realistically it was either middle or late April, or after the draft at the earliest.
  11. There is a lot of knowledge being dropped in this thread. It is too bad someone isn't able to pick it up.
  12. Can we make LMAO an option?
  13. Yes, we should quit on a guy after 100 major league innings.
  14. Inconsistency is a much better word to use with a kid who is set to pitch his 100th major league inning tonight.
  15. Walks is the one thing I am most concerned about with him. Control will be the most determining factor on if he becomes a super star at the next level or not.
  16. If they want a real return, hopefully the Sox hang up on them. I am not interested in giving up Castillo, Smith, or Narvaez at this point, and definitely not Zavala or Collins.
  17. Very happy to see they aren't pushing Kopech up yet. No good reason to do so yet. I want to see some domination first.
  18. It would be nice to have one guy in the minors who we know has the potential to play catcher in the major leagues defensively.
  19. Kopech started on Sunday and threw 66 pitches. Unless they were planning on bringing him back a day early, his normal rest day to start would have been Friday.
  20. In the 21st century, as long as they aren't a part of a corporate scandal, I am not sure that it really matters. The era of being outraged over sponsorship's has passed.
  21. I think Hahn pretty much is responsible for the process and the direction, but he has to come to JR and KW to get a final yes or no for the big things (such a changing direction for a rebuild or spending a lot of money). Again, for any person who is two levels removed from the top management in his company, this is a completely normal procedure. No one who has two levels of bosses gets to do things all on their own.
  22. I mean think of it this way. Hahn worked for the White Sox for like a decade before he got the GM job. Despite being a highly through of future GM, he interviewed for very few jobs, refused interviews in cases, and even pulled out of a process at one point. He KNEW how the White Sox operated before he accepted the position and still took the job. No matter what the situation is in the White Sox front office is, Rick Hahn is 100% on board with it, or he wouldn't be here. He's had tons of chances to leave over the years and never has. You have to make the read that he wants to be here, which means he is OK with what is happening here. What it all boils down to is if our bosses were trying to push us to do something we didn't want to do, we'd be looking for a better situation. Hahn is not any different there.
