My guess is that he has taken it down a notch to work more mechanical and to work on repeating motion. This is a pretty normal White Sox thing.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Mar 14, 2017 -> 02:47 PM) I think leury breaks with sox. Since saladino is 2b they need a super utility player. You almost have to have one of Leury or Sanchez to break camp as the back up middle IF.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 14, 2017 -> 02:00 PM) I doubt it. I think Bourjos is CF, Garcia in RF, Melky in LF. Leury, Soto, Sanchez, and 1 of Liriano or Asche as final bench piece. At this point in time this looks right to me.

Fangraphs Top 100 Prospects
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Mar 14, 2017 -> 12:21 PM) Well he currently throws from the stretch, which is not all that common for a starting pitcher I'm not sure why they do not stretch him out and give him a chance to start while we are rebuilding for the next few seasons? If that does not work out he can always relieve More than likely, Sox scouts feel much better about getting him to the majors in relief rather than screwing around trying to get him to be a starter. He was a reliever in college, so they might not want to mess with a good thing? The Sox have used this path in the past, and it has worked out just fine.

David Price Reports are Surgery NOT needed..
QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 14, 2017 -> 12:36 PM) What happened to 7-10 days? Not so sure they are in the clear as reported. My guess is that he won't be able to build up enough innings to go by opening day.

Fangraphs Top 100 Prospects
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Mar 14, 2017 -> 11:47 AM) Elite, top 5 mlb relievers like Chapman, Jansen, Miller, etc. have tons of value, especially come high leverage playoff time...but unless a prospect is the next Mariano Rivera I do not think these players warrant a top 100 ranking If the Sox decided to give Burdi a shot at starting, it might be a different story I am so disappointed that they aren't even giving it a chance.

Your Final Four Picks
QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 14, 2017 -> 11:10 AM) Nova, UCLA, Zona....coughmichigancough UCLA winning it but I don't feel confident. I have no idea this year. That is exactly how I was. Typically I don't pick teams before I see the brackets, and I kind of let the match ups dictate who I pick. This year when I sat down and looked at it, I had UCLA at the end and was almost surprised by that. Really there could be a decent argument for about 10 teams to win it. There could also be a ton of odd balls with a chance at the final four.

3/13 vs Indians
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 14, 2017 -> 11:01 AM) I am not saying Saladino is bad or anything, but I also think he is the tallest midget on a team devoid of hope at the major league level. I think he will make a career out of being a fringe starter and utility player. While that has value, we aren't talking about anything with REAL value. To expand and throw a couple of names out there, how about Jeff Keppinger or Tony Graffanino.

3/13 vs Indians
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 14, 2017 -> 10:58 AM) I'm not sure why Saladino is so slept on around here. Dude was an above-average bat the final two months of the season when he got more consistent playing time. Even with some regression offensively, he can still provide plenty of value with his plus defense at 2B or 3B & smart base-running. Ultimately I think he can be a 2 to 3 WAR player with regular playing time, which would be attractive to many teams. To me, the biggest concern with him is health. He's had his share of problems staying on the field. I am not saying Saladino is bad or anything, but I also think he is the tallest midget on a team devoid of hope at the major league level. I think he will make a career out of being a fringe starter and utility player. While that has value, we aren't talking about anything with REAL value.
