  2. Scott Merkin‏Verified account @scottmerkin 20h20 hours ago Adam Engel with two diving catches today in center field. Engel and May certainly Major League ready defensively--no doubt
  3. QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 20, 2017 -> 12:46 PM) You're wrong. Just sayin'. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Mar 20, 2017 -> 01:34 PM) Neither has Kopech. I think you guys are both missing the mocking going on here.
  4. Scott Merkin‏Verified account @scottmerkin 1h1 hour ag Now the question is with Rodon pitching Sunday and looking strong, will he be No. 2 with six days in between starts?
  5. Scott Merkin‏Verified account @scottmerkin 1h1 hour ago Jose Quintana last pitched Saturday, on my birthday. So he will go Thursday and then Tuesday and then have the extra day before OD
  6. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Mar 20, 2017 -> 11:44 AM) If it's between Asche and Liriano, I don't see how it can't be Asche. Liriano may be out of options but seems very effected by the injury last year (vision problems since). Not hitting well at all and 18 ks. Definitely can risk optioning him down. Pretty sure Asche is on a minor league deal, so he actually can be sent down without losing him. That might actually decide it.
  7. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Mar 20, 2017 -> 11:26 AM) Abreu most certainly has trade value. C'mon man. Look around baseball. One dimensional power hitters just don't carry the value that they used to. With Abreu being priced as essentially market price, there just isn't any meat on the bone.
  8. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Mar 20, 2017 -> 11:22 AM) Maybe someone like Gonzalez. But probably a free agent signing or a trade for someone optionable. With the long term deal that Price has, I think Gonzalez makes a lot more sense than Q does.
  9. Daryl Van Schouwen‏Verified account @CST_soxvan 44s45 seconds ago #WhiteSox SS Tim Anderson out of lineup a third straight day. He's here, said he's taking time off for personal matter.
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 20, 2017 -> 10:12 AM) You can't discount a whole season's body of work because of a one and done tourney. It's fair to say that maybe the ACC was a bit overrated but trash? That's just not true. That is exactly what we do with the tourney.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 20, 2017 -> 09:12 AM) Orange Twitler is having an epic twitter meltdown right before Comey speaks Wait I though Comey was a Republican stooge trying to get Trump elected?
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 20, 2017 -> 08:41 AM) The NHL's statement said that they couldn't confirm the moment Panik's stick actually touched the puck over the line, so that gave Toews the time to get back onside I guess. If they are gonna be that exact about these offsides reviews, I feel like it's gonna become just like the NFL catch rule. The key to these is always conclusive proof. That is pretty tight standards for proof. Wow. But we have seen the same kind of thing go against the Hawks plenty of times.
  13. QUOTE (hi8is @ Mar 20, 2017 -> 12:14 AM) Abreu has zero trade value? Sure. Compare and contrast to Mark Trumbo who got a 3 year salary on the open market almost exactly what Abreu got. Trumbo even plays some OF which adds to his value. Abreu is already at or above market value.
  14. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 19, 2017 -> 11:38 PM) Yup, Frazier's market could be vastly different come the trade deadline. With even the slightest bit of a rebound, I expect him to generate a halfway decent return. Could be is different than now. If he recovers and remembers how to play 3B, that changes a lot. Right now you aren't trading him for anything.
  15. Wow, I flipped to the game during a commerical during the NCAA's and saw they were down 3-1 in the 3rd, and wrote it off. I looked up the score later and saw 6-3 and first assumed they lost. Then it hit me that Chicago was the one with 6. Wow.
  16. QUOTE (Soha @ Mar 19, 2017 -> 07:45 PM) The timeline is fine for Baez. Not everyone has to be on the same contract path. That said, Baez + Jimenez is overpayment and the Cubs wouldn't do it. He's on the same control as Adam Eaton, and one more season than Quintana.
  17. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 19, 2017 -> 05:23 PM) I thought Moncada was a bust after X amount of PAs in spring training.... I know this is sarcasm, but I love the fact that he seems to be getting better as spring training is going on. even with less garbage pitchers in camps that he is seeing.
  18. Miller is a very nice baseball venue. I really liked it up there.
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 19, 2017 -> 06:53 PM) With the Cubs, my price starts with Baez + Jiminez, if Baez/Zobrist are bouncing around the diamond. Eh, Baez doesn't make sense for a timeline. Get Jimenez, Happ, Martinez, etc. Guys that you will basically get 7 years out of.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 19, 2017 -> 04:48 PM) How many of those players came from the same system,Wite? That doesn't mean you trade an asset like Q for depth. You trade Frazier, Robertson, Jones, Abreu even for depth packages. Not Q. Frazier you trade for pretty much anything you can get. He has zero trade value. Same with Abreu.
  21. This is probably the last time we will hear this name until he is released.
  22. QUOTE (mataipaepae @ Mar 17, 2017 -> 01:46 PM) I like Maitan better because of his chance to play 3rd base. Anytime you get a Miguel Cabrera comparison, you have my attention.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 16, 2017 -> 06:50 PM) Something changed. He seemed really happy with the situation at the end of last season. So either it is a health issue with himself or maybe his wife or someone, I am thinking maybe his eyesight, or something hit him. Maybe he realizes the team is going to suck and it won't be pretty for a few years. Whatever it is,I wish him well. The rebuild happened.
  24. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 16, 2017 -> 03:41 PM) There's been some small rumors that the HC at LaLu, Shane Heirman, would be interested in an assistant job at Illinois. That may not be a possibility with the new hire but would he really seems like a good coach/recruiter and would be a solid hire. Plus, Bowen is still not committed, he could follow. I am a big fan of that guy. It wouldn't shock me at all to see him as a college coach very soon.
  25. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 16, 2017 -> 02:41 PM) Depth is overrated. Look at how quickly our farm system has jumped in the rankings based on two trades. We need impact players from a trade of Q. Depth has been our exact problem for the last 10 years.
