  1. Now that is a plan. Hold strong brother.
  2. The Sox apparently insisted on Painter from the Phils https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5988070/2024/12/11/garrett-crochet-phillies-white-sox-trade-talks/?campaign=5888993&source=dailyemail&userId=6062851
  3. If anyone gets Getz in the gift exchange, a nice comfortable office chair with wheels to he can just roll over to the next table he has a seat at is high on the list.
  4. In a couple of years, if he is still around, sure.
  5. Doesn't he still have six years of control? Unless someone blows you away for no good reason, there isn't much of a point to trading him yet.
  6. Honestly, he kind of sounds like Chris Getz. Shopping in the discount bin for sure.
  7. Good for Chris sticking to his guns this winter. Hopefully he has learned something in the last year and a half.
  8. And it's 100k. If they come to spring and suck, send them back for 50k.
  9. Looking back, the White Sox didn't lose a single player in the MLB or MiLB portions of the draft. If that isn't telling, I don't know what is
  10. Really it comes down to the recovery of Montgomery vs the 3rd and 4th prospects in the Phil's deal. I am not a big Crawford fan, so I think I prefer this deal
  11. Will they send me the nine bucks first?
  12. If anyone gets Getz in the gift exchange, a nice comfortable office chair with wheels to he can just roll over to the next table is high on the list.
  13. They have no where near the pitching they need.
  14. They are going to absolutely f*** around and miss their window. With the Yankees and Red Sox in your division you can't wait around, you have to take advantage when they are down.
  15. Well they seem to be admitting they can't develop anyone if they don't have the exactly right attitude for whatever this crew needs. Granted, that seems to be every player who goes through Chicago now, but sure.
  16. Getz: "We can't offer you money, or a winning franchise, or leadership, or history, or a large Japanese community... shoot, where was I going with this?"
  17. That's never in question. The only question is if it will ever be cool.
  18. You have to get decent value for him, but has no purpose on this roster. I will say I wouldn't give him away either, if we have to to spring training with him because the offers suck, cool.
  19. Here's my nerves on this deal. Getting another catcher isn't a horrible thing, but we also can't afford for Teel to be much less than a pretty good every day catcher. If he is, then the need for him to be a 30 homer guy increases a lot if he moves off of catcher to a place like 1B or DH. The one that really worries me is Montgomery. I love his profile, but the ankle injury really scares me. Maybe is Robin Ventura trauma but if he loses anything in the ankle, the rest of the pieces of what makes him a top prospect suffer. He's not going to have as much range in the OF, he's not going to have nearly as much power in the box, and he could even suffer on his throwing if it limits his flexibility. The last two guys have the types of profiles you would have expected as 3rd and 4th pieces in a deal like this. Would have been nice to get a crazy wild card Latin signing as one of those types last pieces, but you can at least squint and see something if everything goes right. The bottom line is the Sox have to get two six to ten year starters out of Teel and Monty, and hopefully get a piece out of the other two.
