  1. The problem is the rest of baseball is catching the Sox at the right time. Of course that time is 2024.
  2. Right now he is the guy who has to go on camera every night talking about why the team failed. Once he is gone, the focus turns to someone else, and he still gets to collect his paychecks. Maybe at some point someone will ask the GM or owner about the roster? Nah.
  3. I can't find the tweet now, but it was something to the effect of how much his contact rate dropped with fastballs 94+ IIRC.
  4. Firing Pedro would be doing him a favor. He will get to sit at home and collect his checks and not be held accountable for this dumpster fire.
  5. We'd still be under 20 wins. This roster is absolute garbage. It is injury prone, untalented, and baseball stupid. The only thing that manager can help with is baseball stupid. Honestly, the stupidest things Ozzie did are many of the same things that Pedro does. He gives away outs and plays awful veterans at the expense of kids waaaaay too much.
  6. The one interesting thing I saw was about his inability to hit velocity. There was a tweet out there on it at some point.
  7. This years replacement will be Charlie Montoyo. I would bet money on that. Beyond that? Who knows.
  8. He obvious said what they wanted to hear. And hearing that we apparently want to be in the stone age of baseball in teams in how we use data, I fully expect we will see the same feelings based hire for whoever gets hired next.
  9. If someone is trying to tell me that all of those are projected starters, yes, I will question them, mostly because that is answer is a massive outlier compared to what everything else is saying.
  10. Not writing off and projected as a starter are two completely different things. I expect you know that.
  11. The only one that is projected (your word) at this point is Ramos, and the way your list was I imagine you were counting him as 3rd, and if that is the case, you can't also count him as second. As to the rest, I have yet to see anyone projecting any of the other three as major league starters.
  12. Who is the 2B?
  13. He probably gave up trying. He used to.
  14. I went with 2030. I think a number like 2027 means that EVERYTHING went right, like 3 standard deviations of right, in order to make it happen that quickly. I think by the time we get enough position players into the system, give them time to develop, be recalled, experience failure and get past it, it is probably a solid 5 seasons away at best.
  15. For the record the pitch that Robert hit was a slider that didn't break hard enough.
  16. It's this. He is an FNG who knows the history of the guys who came before him in Chicago. The world biggest homers are the ones who owned this city.
  17. By this point, you 100% are justified in making this assumption. If it were different we can safely assume that Pedro would be out on the street by now, or the line up would be different.
  18. Holy Schultz! Dutch is taking over!
  19. Curious what the pulse of Soxtalk looks like. When will the Sox hit the post season again?
