I wouldnt want the guy on my team if he didn't want to be a starter.

Winter Meetings?
If Kenny can find a decent deal for Bobby, I can see the SOx making this type of deal.

Sox mentioned to have interest in Padilla
QUOTE (Ranger @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 05:18 PM) Things tend to change when you become teammates with a guy you once disliked. This isn't going to happen, but I'm just saying it wouldn't be entirely out of the question that they asked about him or that he was discussed. Remember, a LOT of players get discussed during this time, even ones you've never thought of. Not to mention we are talking about a guy who is in the bottom 1% of the league as it is. Plus he has a personal problem with the guy he would be working most directly with. Its not like they would even be on opposite ends of things. I still say there is zero chance of this happening, and the idea of it being thought about is about the same chance. I know lots of things get talked about, but looking at the specifics of this exactly situation tells you everything you need to know. The only way Padilla was discussed, is if everyone in the room cracked up laughing after his name got mentioned.

The Kentucky/UNC game was great. Kentucky is lost without Wall on the floor at this point, even with some elite talent around him. UNC has much better balance, though both teams defend the s*** out of the ball.

Top 10 Worst Contracts Of The 2000s
Zito and Hampton have to be the two worst. Super-long-term deals for starters, and they just handicapped their respective teams with their presence. At least the shorter deals didn't lock up teams as long.

Financial News
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 01:11 PM) Oh there is a LOT to make up. I think everyone has known for a while this is a much deeper and longer recession that what we saw in 2002, or in the early 90's, or really any going back to the 30's. And while this is good news (this recent month's picture), you really need to build bigger ongoing momentum to start eating away significant chunks of that job loss. It will take years, even under the best case scenarios. This is one of the reasons why I keep harping on the Stimulus Bill having been far too short-sighted. Not as much short-sighted as unfocused on the main problems. It would have been nice to have that other 90ish percent of the money still to come in that bill to be able to adjust to this recession on the fly, instead we have to sit and wait, and hope... And, oh yeah, pass another jobs bill because the first one isn't working right.

QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 01:57 PM) i want carlos delgado I said it in another thread, but I will repeat it, a few years back Delgado turned down a trade to come here. I doubt he is going to have much of a chance at landing here now.

Sox mentioned to have interest in Padilla
QUOTE (Ranger @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 12:42 PM) I wouldn't unequivocally say there is no way they'd express any interest in him at all. I agree that it's not likely there is great interest, but it doesn't mean there wasn't some discussion about it. Unless they planned on dumping AJ, there is no way you hire a guy that you know is going to be in a fight with one of your main guys, probably on the first day.
