If you aren't going to make it up with quality, you need to make it up with quantity. I have no problem with that either as the Sox need both.

All I know is this exact same group was running through walls, playing hard, and winning games when Ricky was here. A change was made and then started a slow, but consistently picking up speed, fall off until at some point everything just collapsed. Pick your poison as to how or why. Honestly it really doesn't matter. The well was poisoned and the tree died.

Right. Which is why the entire team, including himself, all regressed randomly at the exact time, despite having been just fine for years. Makes total sense.

I am expecting all of these guys to start seeing some rebound years once they leave this toxic situation.

Obviously, but you keep asserting that Poles "played" himself, which would indicate he has made a wrong move overvaluing Fields when he could have had more at some other point in time and made the wrong move, thus "played" himself, yet haven't been able to articulate what that actually was.

And you don't have to give up nine figures to get him either. There are like 10 decent QBs in the NFL and the rest of the league is chasing. If he was a very good starting QB we'd be talking about multiple first round picks.

"People" is not Poles. How did Poles play himself? What deal did Poles pass up that he played himself? Fans chattering does not equal the GM, you understand that right?

That's the thing I keep thinking. Someone gave Cousins nine figures, yet Fields isn't worth a respectable draft pick? It doesn't add up.

This is like quoting the White Sox record last year with a specific pitcher on the mound. It completely and willfully ignores how insanely awful the rest of the team has been while he has been here.

Yet mediocre to bad QBs are getting paid. Either you get something worth it as compared to what a QB costs on the open market, or you keep him around as depth.

Yet here they are with a story that hasn't been denied.

Because he is better than any other QB on the roster.

TBH, if you don't get enough for Fields, bring him back.

I know people don't like it, but it isn't untrue. Some fan bases show up no matter what, some do not. The Sox are the latter.
