  1. The Sox don't have another OF on the 40 man they can recall.
  2. This. I don't really trust the Sox to make a series of complicated moves and succeed. We KNOW Jose Abreu can play here.
  3. Can we call up our AAA reporters? They seem to be more effective than our MLB ones.
  4. The offense is in zero position to afford to lose Jose Abreu. They can't pay for the stupidity of their coaching staff being kneecapping the offense. If they are, they might as well sell off the rest of the offense and start over.
  5. Check this out. https://www.milbauctions.com/iSynApp/allAuction.action?sid=1103205&rc=25&pgmode1=teamsearch&pgcust1=knights&fsList[0].strValue1=caf_team_s&fsList[0].strValue2=knights&sort=$sort&layout=listview
  6. What is better odds, Abreu hitting like he has the best decade or Eloy staying healthy? The odds of Abreu's loss hurting the Sox way more is so much higher vs Eloy, it's not even funny.
  7. Can we please learn our lesson about rehiring retreads of our own?
  8. It amazes me that no one from management is out there answering these questions, so the players get to. What a joke.
  9. Graveman talking about Tony in the past tense.
  10. Again, we have to go to national writers to get information. Not sure what local media gets paid for these days.
  11. The problem is if no one likes or respects you, all of the yelling in the world isn't going to help.
  12. If they put him on a plane back to AZ, that eliminates a lot of things, including anything immediate like stroke or heart attack.
  13. Until Eloy shows he can stay consistently healthy, I don't care about him. When the miracle happens with all three are healthy, you mix between 1B/LF and DH. This team cannot afford to lose the most valuable and consistent bat we have.
  14. He was already wrong, and told everyone later on he was guessing, and didn't know anything.
  15. I am even going to follow up on this. Abreu has the 3rd highest fWAR of any qualifying 1B this season. Only Goldschmit and Freeman are higher. This number is higher in 127 games played of 2022, than 152 GP in 2021. His RC+ is 142, vs 126 last year.
  16. These tweets are from July man.
  17. He's been a problem this year in one narrow aspect. He hasn't been a problem.
  18. I don't know if the lights were a little too bright at this stage or what, but he didn't seem ready to catch yet at the major league level.
  19. Surprised they didn't force him to sit on the bench for 7-8 days before finally letting him sit out.
  20. We are just going to pretend that Abreu hasn't led the AL in RBI twice and averaged over 100 RBI for season for his full season career, and use only RISP for 2022?
  21. His defense has been KILLING him. he is giving up about an extra run per game which can be attributed to his defense.
  22. Which puts him squarely in the middle of a lot of rotations with a near average ERA.
  23. If he pitches like Lucas Giolito he is in the $20 to $25 million range on a long term contract. Vintage Lucas Giolito is a top of the rotation starter. $10 million year in 2022 is a 4th or 5th starter who can pitch 200 innings a year, which is what Lucas's numbers look like after his defense adds on an extra run a game to his ERA. If guys like Johnny Cueto, who hadn't had even a decent season since 2018 are still getting jobs, Lucas Giolito is having every single team in baseball call him if the Sox were stupid enough to non-tender.
  24. This isn't even remotely true. With as little pitching as there is in baseball, there will be about 29 teams calling him if the Sox let him walk.
