White Sox Mgr Speculation Thread
Risky, but I bet only Ozzie would be willing to do it.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
If we are starting over, Vaughn doesn't fit our window anyway. If all else was equal, I would say that you keep him. But as the one guy with trade value in this logjam of players, he makes more sense as a trade chip right now.

I am sure no one else thought to tell Yoan that he isn't playing well.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
I also really want to see if an actual normal winter full of workouts, and a normal spring training, which hasn't happened in three years, might solve some of these types of problems. It might be that Vaughn has never been conditioned in his legs to handle the running around in the OF. It might be that his body just can't handle the extra load. Or he just might never be what we thought he was. I tend to think it is one of the first two, and he will settle into a borderline annual all-star of a hitter.

Will Abreu be a White Sox in 2023?
This is the type of deal I am hoping for.

Holmes writes "JR owes fans..."
Why waste time on something that isn't going to happen? Jerry has never thought this way, nor will he start now.

White Sox Mgr Speculation Thread
The biggest problem with Ozzie is Ozzie only cares about Ozzie. Everyone and everything else is secondary. All you have to do is look at him testifying for the job TV right now. If it was about the Sox he could have went directly to JR and company in the background. Instead every TV segment becomes about him and the White Sox. It's all about the Ozzie show, and nothing else.

Shane Riordan sucks and knows nothing
I can't imaging caring this much about Chicago sports radio. It is lowest common denominator trash designed to evoke a reaction versus having any intelligent exchanges. Quit wasting your time on garbage.

I am not sure we MLB pretends that the steroid era is legit, but sure. Go with it.

You act like they have a choice right now.

Instructional League Preview
This could be interesting. Between health and hitting, he just seems like a guy who wasn't going to hit enough to let the power carry him. Adding an extra dimension is interesting.

Will Abreu be a White Sox in 2023?
At the end of the day, Jose Abreu should be back with the White Sox. I get that Vaughn is cheaper and younger. Here is the problem, you lose Abreu for nothing. If you sign Abreu and trade Vaughn, you maximize the values for both of them, and you use it to get you some sort of asset. Whether that is a RF, 2B, or SP, the market will figure that part out. Realistically, the end of Vaughns pre free agent years will also probably be past the Sox window of contention, so it isn't like we are going to gain anything big by having him in years 5 and 6 anyway.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
There is a MASSIVE difference between can't and not willing to.

All except the part where Cleveland spends big on FA.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
It was also consistent with them not wanting to expend resources on a DOA product. The only guy they added was a guy who was signed through 2024.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
That's what I remembered. I am not saying it didn't happen, but I sure don't remember seeing it.

Did they say it was because of financials? Because I don't remember seeing that.

Random thought. Miguel Cairo getting an interview satisfies the Selig Rule.

The International Signing Thread
I get the impression that a decent amount of kids are falling through the cracks with the new rules. The older kids, late bloomers, and Cubans are all fighting for disappearing cap space. No idea what it will look like down the road, but the ramifications of the changes are still TBD.

That's the opposite of what happened. He THINKS he knows and was guessing ahead of time.

The International Signing Thread
For the record, according to FS, the Sox signed 20 guys in this Latin American class.

Fire Rick Hahn
Worth noting here... With Rick leading this presser, and talking about he, Kenny, and Jerrry talking about the next manager, it is probably safe to assume that Rick is going no where this winter, and that he out lasted Tony.
