Depends on what you mean exactly. I am a firm believer in the evolution of baseball players. I think the players of today are way superior to the past generations of hitters. They are bigger, stronger, faster, and smarter. They can hit more pitches and have more ability. So if you are saying to transport Barry Bonds 2001 to play in 1987, he would hit way more homers than anyone else, because no one else would have anywhere near his ability. I don't know if he would hit 80 or something like that for a couple of reasons. The baseballs are much tighter wound because they have gone from hand made to machine made. Plus today's strike zone is smaller, plus this was pre-expansion so there would be like 50 less really bad pitchers to face. Plus the wave of new ballparks that are all much smaller. (think of the new Houston vs the old etc.) BTW good topic

The administration as in the President? If this is true, the government were the LAST ones to get their hands on this. It sounds to me like it went through some safe people, through contacts, into ABC's hands, and then into the governments hands. I am not sure how them ending up with a videotape through a news station is playing the terror card? It sounds to me more like an attempt to influence the elections ala Spain.

There were high level government and UN officials from Russia, China, and France amongst others who were making millions of dollars from Saddam Hussein off of the food for oil program. It isn't like these guys were nobodies, they were important people. These were people with influence.

It shouldn't be. The problem is if you increase minimum wages 25% tommorrow, you can bet that 1/4 of that workforce will lose their jobs. Is it worth having 3/4's of those people at poverty level, while expelling the rest of them into unemployment? There would also be inflationary considerations, but I would have to figure out how many people would be affected before I could guess as to how big it would be.

Speaking of minimum wage. I wish they would just go ahead and index it to inflation, the same way they have SSI. The problem is nothing gets done about it for years, then when they do, it is way above inflationary levels in order to catch up, and it takes years for shock to wear off and hiring to recover. To me there is no reason they can't index it.
