I thought about the same answer at first, but I figured I'd give the fat pitch for someone else to smash

With out the oil in the middle east, we would care about them about as much as we care about the ethnic slaughters that have gone on in many countries in Africa in the 90's, into the 2000's. Outside of a precious few people, no one realizes how many people have died, and are dying there. The number of dead just from civil wars is in the millions, from just the 90's. Can anywhere else in the world say that? No. How many US troops are there. Very little. How many UN troops are there? Even less. How about disease? Kids are dying with diseases that were curable decades ago. AIDS is ravaging the continent. Misinformation about diseases is only exaserbating the problem. No where else in the world has experienced anything remotely like this in the 20th century. I honestly believe if it were a predominantly white continent we would have sent troops there long ago. Sorry Africa is a pet peeve of mine. It is an ignored continent that holds about 20% of the world population.

Trust me. I am going to do everything I can to whoop his ass. I am in the finals of both of my hockey leagues, I am so pshyched. I won a tie breaker for an 8-8 game last week in my 16 team league. The guy won the regular season by 40 points and I picked him off by concentrating on the categories I knew I could beat him in, and rotated in players that specialized in those areas. It ought to be an interesting two weeks to say the least, but I guess I have to try to do what the rest of you pukes failed at

I have to take exception to the Bull comments. Isn't he learning a whole new pitching motion this year? That has got to be enough to screw you up for a while.

It was interesting that they left the kid out there to get beat up that way. I would be curious to see how he reacts to the adversity.

I used to be a big time Duke hater, but over the years have really grown to appreciate what Coach K does. He continually recruited extremely intelligent kids, who mostly stay in school, graduate, become model citizens, and excell in college basketball. He has never sold his soul for an athlete like so many others have. you never hear about the recruiting scandels or disipline problems that plague so many others. It is nice to see someone who does things the right way, win.

So the sweet sixteen will be missing at least 1, #1 seed, and 2 #2 seeds. Wow.

OK now that really convinces me that there were personality differences with Guillen and Nossek. If he was having so many health problems that he couldn't sit on a bench for three hours, why would he take a job where he is always going to be traveling and on the road?
