Anyone think there was a ton of problems between Frank and Jerry Manuel? He never acted like this with Jerry as manager, and as a matter of a fact did a lot of things to undermine JM. Every since Oz has shown up, Frank has been the model teammate, praises his manager, and is even going out of his way to help.

I think they way over estimated Estes based on a pitchers ballpark that he had been in the years before. They way overpaid for him, and I would bet they wished they had saved that $3 mil they paid Estes, used Cruz in the rotation, and gotten a reliever or two instead. I really think once someone convinces this kid he is a ML pitcher again, he will put up #2-#3 starter numbers.

Glad to see Pax isn't playing the blame game. It is a real stand up move, and would be real easy to blame someone else...

This has been my point all along and I am glad to see the commission taking EVERYONE to task for this. My problem with this is simple. The media and everyone else is beating up on people for inaction on 9-11, yet is lambasting people for for Iraq. You can't have it both ways folks. You can be pissed off for trying diplomatic means on one side, but be pissed we went after Saddam on the other. It doesn't make sense.

I think you hit it right on the head. Pitching is 90% mental, and they have just robbed this kid of all his confidence. He just needs to be put into the rotation and be left alone. I really get the feeling that the Cubs are going to end up trading this kid for a plug in player, and he will go elsewhere and become a very good pitcher.

I would love to see them get rid of the instigator penalty. If a guy jumps another guy give him a match penalty for intent to injure. That'll solve that problem. If two guys want to go at it, they shouldn't have to have the secretaries calling it other to get it set up. Drop the gloves AND GO!
