Tepera is a free agent. Kopech is going to the rotation. Kimbrel is halfway out the door. There is a HUGE hole in the pen even with Graverman.

Hopefully this was his adjustment year and he comes back ready to go next year.

If the name is out there, it probably won't happen. Seems like if it is going to happen, we find out about it when it is done.

I think more than anything it reflects the current make up for the team. We have a lot of cheap high end starters and position players, but not as much in the pen, so that's where they spend today. I do think that changes here soon with a high dollar starter getting added, at least.

Again, we are probably losing 3 of our top late inning guys in Kimbrel, Tepera, and Kopech. That will require some spending to make up for.

As someone who negotiated my own `50% raise a couple of years back all I can say is if you don't ask for it, you won't get it. The worst that happens is they say no. Typically it serves as a negotiating point.
