  1. 17 straight runs scored without benefit of the home run
  2. Looks like your sarcasm vaccine is working just fine.
  3. He is pretty obviously tweeked somewhere. Giving him a couple of days is fine by me.
  4. All you have to do is look the correlation between vaccine rates and cases, as well as between the non-vaccinated and who is being hospitalized and dying from COVID. If people want data, there are some great numbers there.
  5. Thinking a little bit more about it, Sheets also allows the Sox to DH or rest Abreu, while keeping Vaughn in RF and Yas behind the plate.
  6. For the record, Collins has actually been on a pretty decent hitting spell as of late. In June he is .323 .400 .452 .852
  7. Well in theory, Hamilton is back who can cover CF, so the big difference between Gonzalez and Sheets was that Gonzalez can play defense. If you don't need that, no need for Luis.
  8. About a 100 RPM difference if I am reading that right?
  9. I am guessing the decision on whether they can afford EE has already been made at the upper management level, and now it is the lower level decision of deciding if they can get a deal done or not.
  10. He looked like he came up lame after a play in LF on Sunday.
  11. The issue is that the team trading for him faces the same time crunch and sees the same 36% K rate that everyone else does. If they think he is worth having on the roster next year, sure. But I think everyone sees him as a guy that still needs more time.
  12. MJ's first retirement was a big one for me I haven't seen mentioned yet.
  13. Well so far the answer is never capable. He has a career high of 165 innings, and hasn't hit 100 since 2018, and only 3 times since 2015 has been over 100 IP.
  14. Any reason you focused on only the start he made for the Sox in the playoffs after coming back from injury, and not his extensive playoff history of 12 starts and 13 appearances which is much more in line with the rest of his career numbers? It is also worth pointing out that his 3.96 era is decently above the league average of 4.12, and ERA+ of 106. He also will always get the Mark Buehrle effect of being a very good defensive pitcher who is almost always out pitching his stuff because of that. He hasn't had an ERA above his FIP since 2016, and is about a quarter of a run ahead of it over his career. Yes he gives up more contact, but his double play rates and defense make up for a lot of that.
  15. Micker is already on the 40, so Rule 5 isn't the issue. He is out of options next year, so his spot needs to be decided before opening day.
  16. Many banned posters like to try to sneak back in. They can't get enough Soxtalk. Usually when that happens, they show the reasons they got banned in the first place. They get mad and make it personal.
  17. Sounds like the Rays should fire their training staff, as they don't have vision.
  18. Holy crap. The just took a five year span of burning this to the ground, getting amazing returns, even in hindsight, for the players they originally had on the roster, and turning this into a playoff team last year, and a first place team this year. We have six of our own 1st round draft picks on this roster. You can nitpick all you want at some of the moves along the way, but you can't say they don't have vision. You might not like their vision, but they also have some fairly solid results to back up what they have done so far.
  19. Personally I want them to win, no matter what lane it is in.
