  1. They are in Chicago watching the game on TVs.
  2. I will allow it.
  3. How about adding NOT and LaRussa.
  4. There are like two people you can't lose in this clubhouse and Tim Anderson is the other one.
  5. You notice this example comes from the early 1970's, right?
  6. Well thankfully the Twins have been satisfied here.
  7. Even I didn't go there.
  8. The problem is that Tony's quotes are all about swingning 3-0 and not about disregarding the take sign.
  9. All he had to say was "we talked about it" or "no comment" and say whatever he wanted to behind closed doors. This is the worst of both worlds.
  10. Laugh all you want, but if my boss shit on me publicly like that, I would find another job. I sure as hell wouldn't be nearly as productive at my workplace in the meantime because I would be too busy seething at what an asshole he was. Obviously baseball doesn't give Yermin the freedom to move around, but every single person in that clubhouse now knows their boss cares about some 20th century concept that he doesn't follow in his own life, more than he cares about their public reputations. That isn't conducive to a good team environment. The 70s are gone.
  11. This is exactly how you lose a clubhouse.
  12. Except you can already see one player PUBLICLY showing he isn't a fan of what is happening to Yermin. For everyone that is willing to make a public statement, how many aren't?
  13. Even Ozzie Guillen got that you take your players backs publicly every single time. If you have to bawl someone out, you do it in the locker room behind closed doors and don't show up your players in public.
  14. Fines go to the Soxtalk Administrators Pension Fund.
  15. When everyone told me that Tony would have the players backs, little did it I know it would be the other team's players.
  16. Again Yermin Mercedes gets punished more for swinging 3-0 than TLR gets for drunk driving.
  17. If you were self-aware you'd realize that trying to gotcha people with 2005 as a bad thing is absolutely ridiculous.
  18. You wouldn't even fill up the United Center at this point.
  19. So why didn't the Twins get upset at Donaldson pimping a home run down two touchdowns? I though old school mentality dictated you weren't allowed to be happy while losing? See it is this picking and choose of selective outrage that is the problem here. If you want to be old school, be old school. Just don't forget about it when it is your guys. That is trash.
  20. If Minnesota takes out a Sox player because they got hurt feelings over the Sox not quitting playing a game still going on, that is a whole different problem.
  21. You are literally telling people not to get excited or happy about this team right now because a Sox team 16 years ago ALMOST lost a divisional lead, but didn't and won the World Series. It's an awful argument. It's on par with unwritten rules in terms of its uselessness.
  22. If it really happened that Tony yelled at Mercedes for continuing to play a game of baseball that was still going on, it proves the point that we were all making about Tony being out of touch.
  23. Anyone who told Yermin Mercedes to quit playing is out of touch with reality, and needs to get with 2021.
