I am OK with Leury Garcia being our primary back up OF. He is a borderline second division starter/top bench bat in his own right. You also have a legit gold glove level defender in Adam Engel to use as a glove guy off of the bench as well. I would have definitely liked to see a better starting OF, but I am very satisfied in our depth there.

A geocidal and racist campaign was conducted against the natives of North America over a period of centuries, which continues to this day. We stripped them of their own cultural, national, and native identities and instead labeled them as the European pejorative "Indian", which itself is rooted in the Columbus misidentification of North America as India. There are still educational efforts to this day to deny the teaching of tribal history, culture, and languages in Tribal schools. We don't identify them correctly, and have instead assigned them our own European identity.

The Pod has some interesting stuff in it. -The Crochet stuff was wild to listen to, and backed up what we all saw in the eye test when pitched. -What was most interesting for me is when the question was asked about is there a severe drop off after the first five players (Vaughn/Kopech/Crochet/Madrigal/Kelly), he actually made the statement that the dropoff happens after the top 8 which includes Dalquist, Thompson, and Stiever. Really got a big mention as a kid who could have been a top 10 guy with a MiLB season next year, and could be a top 10 after this season. -Also gave some love to Sheets for his bat, and really excited that a move to the corner OFs could unblock him. Seemed to be big believers in his hitability.

We could have left behind the Twins and soon to be former Indians. But we haven't. They should be thrilled.

It seems like a way better life than reflexively jumping to defend terminology soaked in ignorance, racisms, and genocide.
