  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 10:23 AM) Greenpeace holding on line two re:the lawn murdering. I cut down an apple tree last year too. My wife used to work at the Animal Diagnostic Lab at Purdue Laf - She used to get mailers from PETA...AT WORK! The same place she's doing testing on lab mice and knocking 'em out with liquid nitrogen.
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 10:08 AM) PETA on line one for a Mreye. Bring 'em on!
  3. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 09:50 AM) Yet there is a thread on every WhiteSox message board about it... Just to point out that NO ONE is interested. Come on, Steff.
  4. QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 08:09 AM) I didn't read it on the train, and I'm not reading it now. But I'll add my opinion that ignoring a no-hitter is infantile, and has NO bearing on whether the no-hitter happens or not. It's a harmless superstition, but it's also a useless one. If someone has the power to negate a no-hitter through their words, what else could they affect, I wonder?? "Wow, there will NEVER be peace in the Middle East!" (The next day, Israel and Palestine share a BIG hug and go out for a cup of coffee) "Gee, that cancer can NEVER be cured!" (Now available, a grape-flavored pill to cure ALL cancer!!!) I agree, but I must admit that I thought it was strange how much Hawk was mentioning it yesterday.
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 07:14 AM) http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060912/od_nm/fish_dc Fish kills spear-fishing diver MIAMI (Reuters) - A Florida diver shot a large grouper with a spear gun then apparently drowned when the fish sped into a hole, entangling the man in the line attached to the spear, investigators said Monday. The 42-year-old man, whose name was withheld, was free-diving in about 25 feet of water off the lower Florida Keys Saturday and speared a Goliath Grouper, Monroe County Sheriff's Detective Mark Coleman said. "It looks like the fish wrapped the line attached to the spear around the victim's wrist. The fish then went into a hole in a coral rock, effectively pinning the man to the bottom of the ocean," Coleman said in a news release. Police divers found the speared fish tightly wedged into the hole, with the man's body still tangled in the line, a sheriff's spokeswoman said. Goliath Grouper are the largest members of the sea bass family and can weigh hundreds of pounds. What a horrible way to go. "Kick his ass, Sea Bass!"
  6. This is news? This happens all the time near me - the pot smoking with the parent, not so much as a "reward." My cousin's GF's parents used to smoke with all of her friends, and her brothers.
  7. They might be cute, but not very smart. The open field behind me was purchased this spring and is currently being developed. I've never seen so many rabbits in my yard. The momma has built a nest in my burn pile - The babies went running for cover when I weed wacked one time. I let them grow and tore apart the pile of brush before I burned it. Two weeks and some more brush later - another nest. The other nest was hidden by a little bit of dead grass in the middle of the yard. I was mosing on the tractor one day and I saw some babies running. I look over and about 3 or 4 passes ago I ran right over a nest. Thankfully I only got one. I saw four others. There's a wooded area to the east. Why doesn't she put her nest there? Should I have waited for a White Sox loss to post this?
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 12:37 PM) I swear the smartest thing the american military ever did was plant the seed that they were covering up aliens. Now everyone is so convinced something else is going on that they overlook the completely obvious answers... The american military. What? You don't believe in Aliens?
  9. I thought they couldn't do that. I'll believe it when I see it. FOX owns that time and they don't bend easily.

    QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 10:41 AM) This is my cousin's name. I LOVE this name. If Brian and I had a daughter, I wanted to give her this as her first name, but Brian shot it down as a friend of ours named her daughter the same name, but a different spelling. Since we have a first name picked out, maybe I can convince him this should be the middle name. We also have a boy's name picked out. Now if I could convince him to start working on said baby lol. Is it said like Sierra?
  12. 32 white male - and damn happy that way because I get free newspapers when black people aren't around and when the last black person exits the bus the music comes on and cocktail waitresses serve me drinks.

    QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 12:12 PM) At some point in time when we found out we were having our third girl we realized that our names went J,K,M,N. We had to pick a name that started with L to connect them. Nobody ever realizes it unless we mention it. Did anyone see that show on Discovery (or TLC?) about that couple that had 16 kids and ALL their names started with J? Yes. How cute is that woman and family?

    QUOTE(juddling @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 10:51 AM) My wife and i ended up with a couple of girls....we went with Samantha and Tabitha. About 6 months after Tabitha was born did someone point out the 'Bewitched' connetion between the names. My wife and I never watched that show, we just thought that Sami and Tabby sound good together. LOL A friend of mine have a boy named Caston and a girl named Camiele. Say them together. Caston and Camiele. "Love, love will keep us together..."

    QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 10:10 AM) Ah the old naming game. I remember trying to pick a name for our baby. We had totally decided on a boys name and couldn't agree at all on a girls name forever... Guess what we found out we were having? So we actually ended up going through a baby book together and if one of us didn't like a name we threw it out. That got us down to 10 names. Then each of us picked our top 5 out of those 10, and exactly one was on both of our lists... We can't agree on anything. She's got a list of about 30 and I don't like a single one. I have a list of about 2 or 3 and she doesn't like them. MY favorite, Dbaho actually listed, is Abigail, but she doesn't want to have two kids that start with A. Ugh.
  23. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 09:08 AM) Jay, I believe is working in Denver as the local affiliate for Air America's morning program. He's a phenomenal radio talent, and I don't believe left under any bad circumstances at WLS. He was pretty instrumental in their early/mid 90s growth and left originally because of issues related to his bipolar disorder (after a near suicide attempt he was strongly recommended to work a day shift). With a strong lineup during the day, that was something WLS couldn't provide at the time so he went to Denver. He did mornings there for a few years, rather successfully and ended up back at WLS but I don't think they knew what to do with him - he got moved around so much and his partners seemed to always be at the end of a contract. WLS had changed by the time he got back and didn't need his liberal counterweight anymore. I've heard him fill in on AAR for Springer, and it was some of the best radio that timeslot ever heard on that network. Of course, he was replacing Jerry Springer so the bar was pretty low. I doubt AAR survives the next 12 months so maybe WIND should make a phone call to Denver. I enjoyed him on WLS wioth Eileen Byrne. I don't remember why he left, but I thought it wasn't a "choice" move. Maybe I just assumed that since he was back and gone again so quickly. While I don't care for his politics, I thought he presented most of it well and he was always passionate.
  24. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 08:41 AM) Personally, I think if WIND had a more diverse talk lineup, it would do them better in Chicago. It's gonna be really tough catching up to WLS as the number two conservative talk station in the market. They should get Jay Marvin. Is Jay working anymore? I should say, "Are there any bridges Jay hasn't burned?"
