  1. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 02:32 PM) Wtf are you talking about sour grapes? I don't give a f*** that the Bears got Peppers and the Packers are losing Kampman. Could care less, neither player fits in our system and are not worth the money imo. Packers never make noteworthy free agent signings anyways so I'm not expecting anything. I'm just relaying information from what I see on other sites, I don't have the time nor care to look up ages and stats, didn't know I needed to be specifically accurate, one wrong little sentence and everyone jumps on you all at once, ridiculous. No f***ing kidding Peppers is better, just saying I would rather have Kampman for less because he will probably give you just as good production this coming year. Ummm, Reggie White?
  2. Great news on the first 2 signings and getting Peppers will be even better. Not having to pay for a first round pick this year helps balance out the contracts as well. Still some holes to plug, but this team is better right now than it was at this time yesterday.
  3. I was pretty excited to turn to the MLB network last night, sometime after 10 to find the Sox-Angels game on with the Angels broadcasting team. At the time, it was the top of the 2nd inning and Lil Danks grounded out to end the inning with the bases loaded.
  4. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 07:57 AM) Hey! Do you think that that could be Alexie's mother? No? Oh yeah...I forgot. Alexei does have a father, but when it comes to having a mother.......he has "NUN!!! Cool name and photo of Old Comiskey
  5. In honor of Bobby, I am not going to drink any more. Of course, I am not going to drink any less either.
  6. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Feb 19, 2010 -> 12:43 AM) Sucks about Rothwell and a shame for Elvis. BTW, I know that there are only a handful of people that post in this thread, but doesn't anyone else think that our MMA thread belongs in the stickied topics section? Are we not good enough or something? I wonder if a petition signed by about 4 people would make any noise? Who's with me on this? I agree with this. I always look for it at the top and then have to find it down here. I may not post a lot here, but I read it quite a bit.
  7. I went with it being too early for me to decide as of right now.
  8. Big game tonight in Nashville with UT coming to play Vanderbilt. Vandy is going for their first sweep of the Vols in 5 years.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 03:05 PM) Not trying to impress anyone, just feel like the Aparicio love i wanted to show may be dimmed a little bit. This is what I'll be sporting BTW http://jerseychannelone.com/jersey/mlb-chi...tml?language=en Sweet looking jersey and I like the Cooperstown 1959 patch on it as well.
  10. This is one of those headline grabbing stories that seems like a big deal until you see that Aparicio himself was personally asked by Vizquel and that he endorsed it warmly. That is the only person who's view matters in this and I fully support Aparicio's decision. The fact that Vizquel asked him first and that it is meant to honor the #11, makes me fully endorse it even more.
  11. Does not look like many people checked it out yet. Who has time for TV in the morning anyways?
  12. Classy move to be hopefully followed by a Classy season for him.
  13. You have to go with Buehrle and not even think about it. Let Peavy have a year with the team and see him perform as a #1 and then we can discuss this again next winter.
  14. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 02:04 PM) His deal is up after 2011 which would be his age 32 season. I can't see him retiring then. I hope he signs with the Sox again after that. It really does seem as if he plans to play with the Cardinals at some point though.
  15. When is his contract up and how old will he be then?
  16. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 6, 2009 -> 11:50 PM) I'm pretty sure he either doesn't know how to ride it, or can't really ride it until he is retired (could be a clause in his contract since that is pretty dangerous, I.E. Rowand) So right now.. that's mostly all for show. But he was feelin the bike though. He LOVED the scoreboard reference and the baseballs on the wheels it seemed. Let's hope he stays off the bike, less we have flashbacks to Jay/Jason Williams.
  17. I went to them the last time that they were in Nashville. It is a good time. You see all the newspaper reporters from around the country, ESPN and MLB Network both did live shows on location. Saw Peter Gammons and the infamous Steve Phillips. Managers such as Joe Torre, Terry Francona, Joe Girardi, and others were always willing to stop and pose for a photo and talk baseball.
  18. I kept getting an error message when trying to vote, but my top 3 would be Dale Murphy, Dave Parker and Lee Smith.
  19. Clearly one of my all-time favorite players and while he had many solid seasons and a long productive career, I never really thought I was watching one of the all-time greats when I watched him play.
  20. I never even heard of this award until I saw it earlier in the Seattle newspaper. I guess even Mickey Mantle won it back in the day.
  21. It's a no brainer to me that The Big Hurt should be a first ballot Hall of Famer.
  22. It was pretty cool that they gave it an extra 30 minutes. When Ivey was finally knocked out at 9:37 PM during the ESPN Broacast, I figured they would knock out a guy every hand until 10:00 until Cada won it over Moon. Glad to see they showed a few hands of heads up play.
