Thanks to the below, Jermaine can say ANYTHING that he wants and I got his back.
-
I'd take him in a minute. Not sure that we have the package that they would want in return. What cheap veterans and prospects could we offer?

Hawks come down here to play the Preds tonight for their 3rd game against each other in the last 15 days.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 28, 2009 -> 11:36 PM) Team Lebron off to an 0-2 start. If they get off to a slow start, I'd like to see how Mr. Lebron reacts. He lost a lot of points with me with the way he acted after they lost to the Magic last year. He did look like an immature spoiled brat at the end of the series. Let's see if he learned his lesson and moves on from it and proves that he can evolve. Even with the 0-2 start, I still see them winning their division and getting a top 3 seed. -

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 11:06 PM) Anyone know why Notre Dame is playing Washington St. in San Antonio??? The guy who said recruiting help in Texas is correct. There are a few reasons for it. Even though it is a neutral site game, it is considered a home game for Notre Dame and thus the game will be part of their NBC contract. Also, they can have recruits in Texas attend the game and it does not count as a campus visit. The plan is to play one game every other year in Texas as a way to appeal to those recruits and let them play a few games over their college careers in front of their home state fans. Future ND games in Texas will be played in the new Jerry Jones Cowboy Dome and in Houston as well. On the seasons that they don't play in Texas, they plan to play games in Florida at sites in Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa. The reasons are the same as they play in Texas. Of course, they will also play in Yankee Stadium against Army, I believe next season. In addition to the recruiting benefits, it is a throwback to the barnstorming days that ND started back in the days of Rockne. -
I know that this is a top line item, but I found this number surprising: "Sources estimate the Red Sox are generating annual revenues of more than $200 million per year from the Fenway Sports Group." I wonder how that compares to their baseball revenue. Is there a site that lists each club's revenue?

This is a great resource.

Not sure how you can add the son of the founder and not one of the original racers such as a David Pearson. It's just a monument to the France Family. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 21, 2009 -> 11:49 AM) Darvin Moon rules. You have to like Darvin. I would not mind him winning it at all. With 1/3 of the chips, he is in position to do it as well.

Congrats to Gordon!

Suddenly, I have a renewed interest in the World Series this year. Well, at least the pre-game and post-game shows. -

QUOTE (longshot7 @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 12:30 PM) Or even Halsted - the walk isn't that bad, and there's good bars over there for afterward. This is what I do when I am meeting a group of guys. We grab something to eat and few brews before the game and then walk over to The Cell together. -
Read this blurp from below on ESPN Insider. We could do worse than settling for Garland if we can get him for cheap. TRADES: Could rant prompt Garland departure? Jon Garland | DiamondbacksJon Garland ripped into his teammates after the Diamondbacks' loss to the Rockies on Wednesday, and the East Valley Tribune says the comments could result in him being shipped out of Arizona. The D-backs misplayed several balls behind Garland, who likened his teammates to the Bad News Bears. Garland already has been the subject of trade rumors, and this could only hasten his departure. Keith Law's Take Garland can eat innings"He's an above-replacement-level innings eater. Plenty of teams need the bulk innings even if it's from a guy who has to be a little lucky to be league-average.

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 05:48 PM) Does anyone remember specific trades that were rumored with Fields involved? Back when he was a good piece that is. Kenny at least loved that particular prospect a bit too much. Great question. We could do a top 10 list of prospects that Kenny kept, but should have traded when they had value. On the other hand, also a top 10 list of prospects that he dealt to other teams that never worked out for their new teams. I have to think he would come out ahead over all. Another question, what could we get for Fields now?

Does the San Diego Zoo still have those stinky noisy buses that drive all over the path that make it seem like you are touring a Zoo while walking in the middle of Roosevelt Road during rush hour?

Is this a record for most pages within 15 hours?

Not a surprise at all. Glad to see that he will miss the series with the Sox too.

Unless you have lots of clout with Godfather Daley, I can't imagine anybody supporting this. I like the idea in theory, I just know how Chicago operates.

It's a great move by the Bears and really has me excited about the upcoming season.

In today's Sporting News today, they rank the Sox as 19th in their opening Power Rankings on page 24. Also they profile Gavin Floyd on page 3.

Have the Cubbies retired the jersey of Bruce Sutter who won the Cy Young award in 1979 before leaving for the Cardinals were he too won a World Series? Maybe the Nationals can retire the number of Pedro Martinez since he won the Cy Young award with the Expos before they traded him to the Red Sox. Seems a bit goofy to include Maddux when his greatest success was achieved with another team. Why would you want that reminder?
-
Good move by the Sox.

That is really sweet. I like the info and I am jealous of your skills.

Cool photos in Las Vegas with the Showgirls and Former Mob Lawyer, Oscar Goodman. That might have been a decent road trip to head out there for the series.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 02:51 PM) Ohio State and Notre Dame are both pretty well thought of this year. I'm not saying either is a legit stellar team but they are both going to have a great shot at the dance. I will be rooting for the Irish to make it.
