  1. That's the thing that predicts the most sustained success.
  2. 2019-20 Giolito? Sure 2021 Giolito? No. He took a step backward this year. Not nearly as much bat missing.
  3. Nobody responded to anything reasonable I posted today so that's what I thought.
  4. @Y2Jimmy0 said on twitter that they'd be aggressive with Conforto so I can believe that.
  5. Goddammit, I posted angry and ended up on everyone's ignore list.
  6. Jump the market like they did with Yaz. WSD said it first, I concur.
  7. We'd all rather spend Jerry's money. Jerry doesn't want to spend his money so what we want really doesn't matter.
  8. I still think they should build a package around Vaughn for Bryan Reynolds. Abreu is going to play 1B until he either sucks or doesn't want to.
  9. Nailed it. The Sox might get a Blake Rutherford or Micker Adolfo type, or an interesting A ball pitcher. Is that worth the risk of getting stuck with Kimbrel's $16M?
  10. Kimbrel suddenly sucks because the Cubs pitchlab figured something out for him, he got to the Sox, got out of whack mechanically and the Sox weren't able to figure out how to fix him. I thought this was common knowledge. May I ask.......if you were a fan of another team, or a FO person......would you give up anything other than minor league scraps to acquire him?
  11. Sports are a young man's game. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/checking-in-on-the-aging-curve/ Players don't get better, they only get worse.
  12. I don't think he'd get much more than 8M on a one year deal. So yes, that's what I believe. I think there's been too much terrible over the last 3 years from Kimbrel to think he's worth anything close to 16M He's had stretches of greatness, but more stretches of terribad. Wait until the fact that the contract is immovable keeps the Sox from doing anything once the CBA is finalized.
  13. I was happy with the trade when it happened, I'm not a Madrigal fan. That being said, Kimbrel sucks and there is no reason for anyone to believe that he's going to turn it around anytime soon. I'm afraid the Sox are going to be stuck with him.
  14. That's the only excuse for picking up the option. Everyone watched Kimbrel in August and September. He sucks. Nobody wants a shitty reliever for $16M. I think that if they think they're going to extract some value back they're sorely mistaken. Kimbrel at $16M has negative value.
  15. Thread title written in a passive voice. Consider revising.
  16. Really. What more do we need to see from Rodon? Dude just can't stay healthy. Time to move on.
  17. I'm talking about trade capital, not money here. They traded Madrigal and Heuer so they think they have to pick up the option.
  18. This is the very definition of the sunk cost fallacy.
  19. Crochet needs either a) to change the grip on his changeup to get more velocity separation or b) to scrap the change all together and go with a splitter 91-94 mph on the change isn't going to cut it when you're sitting 97. Things are different if he comes out at 99-102 next spring.
  20. That was last year. I found it amusing that he and Alex Trebek passed away within days of each other, even though there was nothing connecting them but a comedy bit.
  21. I wasn't trolling, I'm just having a bad day. I have to remember not to post angry and upset. I already apologized for that. I went back into my old bad habits and I gotta stop. my self regulation is really shitty.
  22. Sorry I came back. Tell me how you really feel. This makes me sad. idk why I even posted here anyway since the ban got lifted, might as well have continued staying away.
