  1. BTW I don't hate Keuchel anymore. I've accepted that he has enough of a track record to be considered a Buehrle type.
  2. agreed. I don't think he sticks in MLB without them.
  3. I don't even think Madrigal is mediocre. I think he's flat out bad, and he's going to get exposed this year. Wait until they start shifting him opposite field and up the middle. Madrigal is going to have to prove that he can pull the ball with authority, even if it's not a HR before anyone will take him seriously. I think he's about to prove that it no longer matters how good your contact skills are.....you have to have power in this game.
  4. Steve Stone said the same thing on the broadcast.
  5. Moncada finished 2nd in 3B GG voting last year. IIRC. Chapman is tough competition.
  6. Then this begs the question that I'll ask again: Why spend 54M on Hendriks?
  7. I'd rather Trout and Rendon walk than put the ball in play.
  8. Grandal is good at everything except blocking pitches in the dirt. He sucks at that.
  9. They'll give him a short leash before going to Rogers as the closer.
  10. Always love making this joke bout Walker Buehler.
  11. I worry the same for Kopech. If Kopech doesn't end up in the rotation at some point this year, I don't think he ever does, and that's just a waste of both him and Crochet. If they're not going to develop both guys properly, they're more valuable in a trade to a team that will.
  12. You're forgetting potential postseason innings. If they go to the ALCS then it helps immensely.
  13. The only thing that is silly that I said was Keuchel becoming Shields. how about this one: Adam Eaton plays 140 games and makes Sox fans forget about RF being a black hole for so long. Or Nick Madrigal hits .340+ over the entire season.
  14. Rodon being the Sox 2nd best pitcher isn't bold?
  15. You must have missed the positive Rodon, Robert, Moncada and Giolito predictions. I've never been a fan of Keuchel and Lynn.
  16. You must have missed the part where I said that Moncada is an MVP finalist and Robert hits 35+ HR and slugs .580+ while playing GG level D in CF. Oh and Giolito wins the AL Cy Young, and Rodon shows us why he was the 3rd pick in the draft in 2014, staying healthy and striking out 180+ batters with a 3.50 or lower ERA. The glass is both half full and half empty.
  17. I mean the guy that is worth 2.5-3.5 WAR and not the guy that was worth 6.7 in 2019.
  18. One could only hope about the first part.......
  19. I'm going to go the other way, and say that Dunning establishes himself as a solid mid to back end starter and makes everyone wish they didn't trade him, while Lynn disappoints and goes back to the guy he always was before his brief performance uptick. Dallas Keuchel is awful(Shields bad) and people are lamenting his contract by June 15th. Sox continue to throw him out there to get lit up because dollars, and it ends up costing them a playoff spot. Rodon finally shows why he was the 3rd pick in the draft, just in time to go get paid elsewhere. Cease shows signs of improvement. Better K%, fewer walks but ERA/FIP around 4.00. Kopech and Crochet don't get enough innings out of the bullpen to get stretched out next year, making them both pretty much career relievers.
