Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
I'm convinced that is the goal of MLB front offices right now. Fuck the WS, I want the $/WAR title. They're more interested in winning that title than the actual title.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Yeah I'm with you. I have serious doubts that the Sox and Boras can come to an agreement on Keuchel or Ryu. That leaves Bumgarner and Wood as the next best options.

NFL Thread 2019-2020
I have considered the entire picture, which is why I'm honing in on the important details. At this point, I know the playoffs are unrealistic so I want them to win as many games as possible so that the Raiders get a worse pick. I'm not going to argue the Mack trade anymore. In any event, why I'm confused about Trubisky is because I always thought it was going to take him longer to figure it out, which is also why it was a bad pick for the Bears. If he's really turning the corner right now, great. If he's on a hot streak we'll find out either the next 3 weeks or next season. I'm trying to not be an insufferable eeyore anymore.

People have every right to b**** about Mack's performance. He's getting double teamed, not getting any help, yada yada. Quit making excuses. He's the highest paid defender in the NFL. Beat them.

Not really. Everything's always about the big picture with me when it comes to sports. The only time to settle down and enjoy the ride is during a long playoff run or after winning a title.

Offseason 2019-2020 MLB Catch All Thread
This this this this this. With the way Jerry feels about FA, they should model their org structure like the Rays and A's, but spend more money. As a matter of fact, if efficiency is the goal, every team in MLB should do that, which would then make it impossible to do.

Cole to the Yankees: 9 years, $324 million.
I think it's pretty clear in sports that you have to lose to win. The 90s Braves aren't possible anymore.

NFL Thread 2019-2020
Mitch is playing better, but he's still good for one "wtf??" INT per game. I can't say he played well vs the Giants throwing 2 INT in that game. I have no idea if he's turned a corner or it's a hot streak. And I don't think we can get an answer this year.

Mitch "throws it away" right to a DB.

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
Why do people believe a fake Steve Cishek account? It's obvious from the tweets that it's not him. Quit giving Twitter trolls bandwidth.

Tsutsugo - UPDATE: To Rays
Ichiro and Matsui worked out ok. Matsui was about the same age as Tsutsugo when he came over.
-
Tsutsugo - UPDATE: To Rays
Yeah, but he hasn't been with Boston for 5 years yet, unless it's an either/or not both.
-
Tsutsugo - UPDATE: To Rays
He only has 4 seasons with Boston. 5/10 doesn't kick in until the end of 2020.
-
Tsutsugo - UPDATE: To Rays
That sounds like 5/10 stuff. He won't be with Boston for 5 seasons until the conclusion of next season.
-
Tsutsugo - UPDATE: To Rays
Oh shit, if you read that, it's just 5/10 rights. I don't think he has a choice right now.

Tsutsugo - UPDATE: To Rays
I don't think Sale would waive

Tsutsugo - UPDATE: To Rays
I didn't know that. Hard pass on Price then.

Tsutsugo - UPDATE: To Rays
I like the idea of trading Collins and signing Tsutsugo to DH. At least Tsutsugo can be hidden in LF on occasion. If you're taking a contract from Boston with Benintendi attached, it's gotta be Sale. When he's healthy he's still an ace. Idk how Kenny and Chris would feel about a reunion though. It would have to be $120M of Sale's contract and Benintendi for Collins, Rutherford and some lottery tickets.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
There isn't a plan B because there's nobody left worth meeting their price other than Cole. I honestly don't think that he's interested in coming here. If they want to shop at the bargain bin for remaining holes I have no issues at this point. There's just no reason to spend big money on the players left that aren't named Gerrit Cole. They tried, they learned their lesson, Wheeler didn't want their money. Not much else they can do really.

Sox have checked in on Pineda, but he signs with Twins
Even with the Yankees after the injuries, I liked him. His last full season pre-TJS he struck out 200 hitters. Dude had a gopher ball problem with the Yankees.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
You have to account for season to season fluctuations. Inevitably, some of the guys that did well this year will have worse seasons next year. It happens to the best of them. Look at Jose Ramirez's 2018 and 2019. He's still a great player, but he had a down half season. If you look at the seasons that the Sox good players had in 2019, there's not much room for improvement, and a ton of room for regression. To clarify: Guys that could get better: Giolito Moncada Cease Guys that will probably be worse: Anderson Abreu McCann Grandal Wild Card: Lopez

Sox in on MadBum
This reeks of a cockblock. Remember the Alex Rios supposed cockblock?
