As long as you realize that Collins is a 1B/DH who can catch on an emergency basis, you're they're fine. If Collins sucks in 2020 they have options. The only thing is that it's going to be hard for him to have a spot when Vaughn is ready. If he proves valuable in 2020, they could also potentially move Vaughn for a long-term answer in RF. I really don't like the amount of 1B/DH types that the Sox have right now. It would have made much more sense based on their current roster construction for them to have gone with Bleday over Vaughn. Especially if they were planning on re-signing Abreu to a 3 year deal.

Does Montgomery suck or is it the run blocking? He has 8 rushes for 12 yards against one of the worst run defenses in the NFL. I lean towards the run blocking but not completely sure.

That was an awful pass. Miller was open and threw it right into coverage. Miller had to cut in to try to catch that pass.

If he cleans up the taunting/shoving he's a good player. Just my opinion but taunting shouldn't be a penalty in the NFL. If you don't want your opponent to trash talk, play better. Beat him and make him STFU. Trash talk has always been a part of sports. Deion Sanders would have been flagged on every play.

Depending on how cheap he is, Tsutsugo could be a RF/DH option as well. Reports out of Japan have him as a quality OBP guy. Idk how his power will translate, but I'd think given that he's been a 35-45 HR guy in Japan, that he'd be a 20-30 HR guy in the states.

This topic is stupid. Nobody's giving anything of value for one year of Betts and the Sox aren't giving him a 350M contract next winter, as much as we'd all like them to. Betts stays in Boston for 2020 and signs elsewhere in 2021.

While true.....to me it makes no sense. The teams that have the most success are the ones that hoard top prospects. If they have them, they let them succeed or fail with their team.

For Betts? Nobody that would get the job done. I'm ok with trading Vaughn or Madrigal but it has to be a player that has 4 years of control and a track record of success in his 2.5 years in the Majors.

50M and 62M aren't that far apart. I absolutely hate the 18M in 2022. That has the potential to impact a World Series contender.

Yup. I think the 1 year add is Wood or Hamels. I'd prefer Wood but Hamels is a vet and more reliable.

He had a 4.7 fWAR last season, and a 4.2 in 2018. He's fine right now. If his health issues are behind him, he should be fine.
