It's better for your cap to recycle those tier 3 guys while trying to find that guy. When Tier 3 guys like Cousins are making 30M then it has become out of control.

Bring in Ozuna and Dickerson, move Eloy to DH.

I think the Cubs hate the Chapman trade. Not only was it dumb, it was a ridiculous overpayment. I'm not sure the Red Sox are happy about the Sale deal either. Given how the Cubs played in the playoffs and Chapman's weirdness, they probably would have won regardless. I'm sure the Red Sox would rather have Moncada and Kopech as well, as would the Nationals with Giolito and Lopez.

Baseball is really random though. The best way to win a world series is to give yourself as many playoff appearances as you can. Think long term in baseball is actually how you get yourself closer to winning a championship. The more playoff appearances the better. Once you get there it's a crapshoot.

Favre is the most overrated player in NFL history outside of Joe Namath. That Superfans commercial sums up why I think he's overrated. If Aaron Rodgers had Bill Belichick as a coach they would never lose. Brady is the GOAT, but Rodgers is the most talented ever.

You nailed it. I'm a control freak and like to be in control of everything. I like to do things my way, mostly because if I don't it makes it exponentially more difficult do complete my task/project. I've always had an authority issue. It took me a very long time to acknowledge that not everyone else is a complete moron. Now I like to surround myself with people who aren't morons. My standards are pretty high there. I don't get along with people who ignore concrete evidence and data about best practices. I like quantitative data.

What I meant by that is guys they can afford to trade without severely hurting their future. That being said, T100 guys are starting to hit at such a high clip that it's pretty much impossible to move them. In a decade or so it's going to get to a point where Chris Sale in 2016 is untradeable because giving up Moncada and Kopech doesn't make sense. Eventually, star players are only going to be able to be moved in the final year of their deals. Minor league scouting has become too good. Amateur drafting is less volatile than it used to be, but still pretty volatile.

I meant disposable prospects right now. They could trade for nearly anyone with some of the talent they have. It would be asinine though.

Cespedes is done playing baseball. But yeah, the Mets have a glut of OF. Given team control, they'd probably trade Conforto. The Sox don't have enough to get that done. I hate how many times I've said "The Sox don't have enough to get a deal done" over the last decade and a half.

Probably the Mets.

Moncada
His arm is so bad that it's a liability. I told everyone he was awful in LF. It's only a matter of time before his arm starts costing them meaningful games. Between his defense and his arm I really don't know how you can continue to send him out there, even at age 23. He costs you games.

He did? I thought he missed a few games. That's even more impressive.

Mayfield was a rookie. I think the cutoff is Matt Ryan. Anything less and the answer is no. Maybe I have a really high standard, but that's my opinion. Goff is right on that borderline too, but I can clearly see the arguments against him. I wonder how much of his success is McVay.

They're a huge upgrade over Cordell and what we've been putting out there.

I think Mazara would be more expensive than you think given that he's only going to be 25 next year.

Polanco shouldn't cost more than Nova did this past offseason. He's been hurt a ton over the last few seasons. He might even be non-tendered.

Brady had 11 picks last year. Rodgers played 12 games and had 2. Rodgers also has the best TD:INT ratio in NFL history. He has 336 TD to 80 INT for his career.

I said this elsewhere, but more teams need to do what Washington did with Kirk Cousins. That gives a team 6 or 7 seasons to see what they have without cap fucking themselves long term.

Dude believe me I get that I wasn't easy to manage. I can be a complete PITA. I get it. I've decided whenever I get my next chance I'm going to back off significantly. I hadn't a clue about workplace etiquette. None whatsoever. I know more now than I did before but I'm by no means perfect. Most of the stuff I did before was out of pure ignorance of what I could and couldn't get away with. I struggle remembering verbal directions so that's a huge issue. Besides that, I think I'm ok now. I'm a bit of a control freak so ceding control of what I'm doing to someone else was really hard for me. If it was up to me, I'd be my own boss and freelance until I could start my own business.

Trubisky was the consensus #1 prospect in that class. There were a lot of draft evaluators that had Mahomes as a late 1st/ early 2nd round pick. Mahomes going top 10 was a shocker, as was him going before Watson. You can't blame them that much for that one.

What do you do when it doesn't get you in the door? That's always been my problem. I have no doubt I'd be fine if I got in the door. Nobody's letting me in.
