I don't know if it's going to be enough.

Read below. The slump he's been in over the last 2 weeks or so make it look worse than it is. It was an intentionally misleading tweet.

Ok, I dug deeper into the 1st half /2nd half splits, and I found the following: 1. Moncada has only played 27 games that could be considered "2nd half" 2. 11 of them are in the last week and a half, when he's been mired in a slump. 3. Therefore, that tweet is misleading and seems to be promoting this "soxmachine agenda" that this has been a bad season for the rebuild. I know that Moncada's been on the IL for a while, but I didn't realize he'd missed that many games. 27 games is no big deal, and his 1.5 week slump has been instrumental in dragging those numbers down. The last week and a half weighs heavily into those numbers. /rational Jack

Charlotte lost. No playoffs. Now who gets called up?

So I was watching a video from my favorite capitalist, Nick Hanauer. He had a quote in the video where he said "Ambition in the absence of opportunity creates anger and resentment." That fits me to a tee. I've always been ambitious, probably to a fault. I realize the sacrifices necessary to get to where you want to go in life, and have made the sacrifices with zero opportunity. As long as I'm making progress, and seeing the fruits of my labor I'll work as hard or harder than anyone. If progress stalls, I'll seek new opportunities. The issue comes when you're never getting those opportunities. I've been thinking about this a lot lately and realized that my blind ambition has gotten in the way a lot. I always want more quickly. One of the things I had was an unrealistic expectation of how quickly you are able to advance or take on new tasks and responsibilities at work. I need a more clearly defined timeframe and and career development path. One of the things I've decided is to go into my next job(whatever it may be) and just do my absolute best at what they ask me to do, don't attempt to read between the lines and let my work speak for itself. Try to learn the lay of the land before trying to show how ambitious I am. Maybe, just maybe my blind ambition was seen more as a threat than a positive trait. And also, if you're bored for a while that's to be expected for the first 12-18 months or so. Suck it up and deal with it. A lot of my clashes with my bosses came from unrealistic expectations on my part about how much and when I could gain more responsibility and new projects when I got bored, instead of realizing that that the groundwork wasn't laid for my long term success yet. This kind of self-realization is thenkind of stuff I mean when I said "I wasn't ready for work then, but I am now"

You're probably right about overreacting, but has he really taken huge steps forward or was it just a temporary blip? Those numbers look a lot like 2018, if not worse. Have the pitchers found new areas to exploit him?

I have both TGC and TGC 2 and it's insanely hard. You mostly shoot scores you would in real life. That said, I'm waiting for TGC 2020 and hopefully more real courses. Is this one as hard as the first two? In those games if you shoot 75 on a par 72 that's really good, and the rough and bunkers are way too penal. If you miss the fairway it's impossible to get a GIR, or even hit a straight shot.

Now I don't know who the real Moncada is. This was before today's 0-4. This guy looks a lot like 2018 Moncada. Thanks, Josh for ruining my day. Now I guess you have to call into question his entire 1st half this season. I don't think I'd extend him until I see it again now. I still believe in his talent, but this is really scary.

Is Ricky the worst manager in White Sox history?
Jack Parkman replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Depends. Ventura was horrible managing personalities, but was a much better in-game tactician than Renteria is. Renteria is absolutely awful as an in-game tactician but runs a tight ship. 6 of one, half dozen of the other. Ventura looks worse because of the clubhouse being out of control. Both are awful. -
