QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 21, 2009 -> 01:18 PM) Leonard Hamilton sure can recruit, but man does he suck at coaching. Just because he lost a game he sucks at coaching? Why not give Wisconsin credit? FSU has a young team and they will be back.

Just came home from the Florida at UCF baseball game and now I know why the Gators suck. Their players are small. My high school team back in 99 was just as big as UF. I wished UCF played big name teams more often at home. It's been awhile since I've gone to a college game and it's a pretty fun atmosphere.

Miami wins 78-66 at Providence. I didnt watch the game so I dont know how excited Providence was but it appears we play pretty well regardless. Pisses me off because if we played that well vs VT in the ACC tournament we might be playing tomorrow or Friday in the NCAAs.

UCONN LOU NOVA UNC UNC over LOU if Lawson is healthy.

Speaking of home runs, Alabama has a guy named Matthes who already has 13 home runs on the season.

Official Recruiting Thread II

Sounds like Shannon said that he was done talking with Brown but would accept his call if he decided to commit to Miami. Atleast Brown can torment the Gators for the next few years. -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 03:08 PM) Bryce. Brown. Both Tennessee and Miami fans are happy with this decision. -
I loved the "dogfight/orgy" line.

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 12:22 AM) Oh, I went to the Varsity. Greasiest.food.ever. Varsity is a great place. My one experience was sitting 10 feet from some fat lady with a mustache breastfeeding her baby.

I better be able to wager on these games or screw this tournament.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 06:09 PM) I like that match up vs Utah for them a lot. It's funny because we're complaining about Arizona but they have a very good chance of winning their first round match up.
-
Arizona? That is a f***ing joke.

I guess I'll watch Miami since there isnt else going on during the week but whatever really. Miami probably would get a high seed for the NIT but they wont have any home games because their arena is booked for a music series for the week. hahaha

Congrats Chimpy! I love Hamilton and I still wish he was still at Miami but you guys had a great season. You know I'll be rooting for you guys in the NCAA!

Way to represent The U!!!!

5-4 win over Duke to improve to 4-0 in ACC play. Team is pitching well as expected and the offense is very clutch. Hopefully they keep improving on offense so we can be a contender as the season goes on. Defense commits errors like its a good thing though. 25% of the runs scored against us this year have been unearned.

Official 2008-2009 College Basketball Thread

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 13, 2009 -> 03:14 PM) I can't imagine leaving Miami for the Alabama job. The only reason I could think of leaving would be to get into a conference without UNC and Duke at the top. But if/when Florida and UK come back from their mediocrity, it's not going to be much different. Miami cant compete with public schools when it comes to paying coaches. So that might be the only reason. I dont want Haith to go because we have a pretty good class according to ESPN coming in and I'd hate to lose any of them if Haith leaves. -

[quote March 13, 2009 Report: Haith interested in Alabama job ATLANTA -- CBSSports.com is reporting that University of Miami coach Frank Haith is apparently interested in filling the opening at Alabama. According to an industry source that spoke with the website, Haith is willing to leave UM if the Crimson Tide come with a respectable offer. Haith received a raise and a new contract after leading the Hurricanes to the NCAA Tournament's second round last season. Frank Haith The Hurricanes were eliminated in the first round of the ACC Tournament Thursday and will miss the NCAA Tournament after being picked to finish fourth in the preseason and ranked as high as 16th in the national polls. UM is expected to receive an invitation to the NIT Tournament Sunday night. Despite a disappointing season, Haith is still considered one of the best young coaches in the business and an excellent recruiter. His name has come up as candidate at other schools -- including Georgia -- throughout the season. I haven't had a chance to have a personal conversation with Haith since these latest rumors have come up, but he's said on multiple occasions he's very happy at Miami and coaching in the ACC. Still, next season UM will be starting over without Jack McClinton. One has to wonder if this might not be the best opportunity for Haith to move onto a place that pays better and supports basketball better than UM does. After all, the Canes play to half-filled arenas on most nights and this coming week won't even be able to host games on their own floor in the NIT because the BankUnited Center has been rented out. Haith has one of country's Top 25 recruiting classes coming in. If he left, it would be a huge blow to the Canes who would likely lose recruits if he bolted. I'm waiting to get on my flight back home to Miami. I'll try to reach Haith when I get back home. I hope this isnt true but maybe we could make a run at a mid-major coach like Jankovich or Grant from VCU. -
Basically played a doubleheader tonight. That game was insane.
