  1. Plus the last Nog fight has me wondering if he has much left in the Tank. The guy claims he's in his low 30s but he's been through so many crueling fights and his body might not have much left. I hope it was just one of those nights and Nog can bounce back with a big win. I dont think Couture is a legit threat in the heavyweight division anymore but I would like to still see Nog in the mix.
  2. I'm actually surprised that the Chiefs did this. They have so many holes that they will use a top 2nd round pick on a position that they already have a capable young player at. I guess it all depends on what they can get for Thigpen. I dont think I would have done this if I was KC.
  3. Miami beats Florida 8-5 behind 2HRs and 5RBIs from a SR who was only a pinch hitter for 3 years and never homered in his career.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 01:48 PM) http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templa...3&zoneid=13 Looks like Big Nog and Randy will be fighting at 101 Going to be an interesting fight since its only 3 rounds. I think Couture can edge of a 3 round fight by being cautious and stalling. A 5 round fight I would def. have taken Nog.
  5. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 04:48 PM) Luke McGown. Was re-signed to a 2 year 7.5M deal this off-season, will be given a chance to start. A lot of people think he's comparable to Rob Johnson though. I think McCown has a lot better than Johnson. McCown has had some nice passing outings in his short time here in Tampa.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 12:48 PM) Kellen Winslow traded to Tampa Bay. I'm kinda going back and forth on getting Winslow. If he's healthy then its great to get a guy who is going to catch atleast 60 balls a year. But is McCown the guy? I liked what I've seen from McGown in limited play but who knows. Then how much are the Bucs giving up? Hopefully not a 2nd and a 3rd like the guy on ESPN hinted at. Overall I'm happy about the trade but weary too.
  7. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 10:06 PM) No doubt. I hope the Canes sweep this weekend so badly. As nice as that might be, I'll be surprised if we can win 2. Starting 4 guys who were either in JUCO or high school last year is going to make it difficult until they get some more experience. I'm expecting a 1 win weekend and I'll be ecstatic if we can win 2.
  8. I missed the Auburn comeback b/c I was watching the Miami basketball game but atleast FSU came back to win. ACC! ACC! ACC!
  9. Big win by Miami tonight. Played like crap for 38 minutes but McClinto scores the final 5 points in a 62-55 win. 6-8 in ACC keeps our slim hopes alive. I use to be pissed at my cable company for not offering the Big 10 Network for free but I dont think I'm missing much with all the games finishing in the 90s this season.
  10. His sister was pretty hot back in high school back in 99. Danesh though is a really solid player. Guy has a nice swing and just gets hit after hit. Is Parker the number 1?
  11. I'm watching the game on SunSports. Nice little shout-out to my high school after Danesh got that hit.
  12. Old Comiskey---Probably the best trip I've been on. I actually got to plan the family vacation before the baseball season started because I saw the schedule and noticed that the Sox was playing a series on my birthday against the A's who my uncle played. Got to stay in the same hotel as the A's and my uncle got the family tickets for 2 games. While I'm a Sox fan, I had to go side with family on that one. Sorry haha. Jacobs Field---Probably my favorite place I've been to. Saw the Twins lose to the Tribe so I was happy. Liked the design and how it was in the middle of down town. Great American----Went to see the Giants play there the first year it was open. I liked the river setting. It was very clean but nothing great. Turner Field----nice place. Sat in the very last row in the upper deck behind home plate which was actually awesome because the wind made it feel like it was 70 degrees when it was July. Tropicana---I love that place. Indoors in Florida during the summer is perfect. Plus its usually empty so I can stretch out. Dolphin Stadium---Sat in the family section the first time and it was fun. Went again in 2001 and the place sucked.
  13. Miami @ Florida this weekend. Going to be a telling series for us because we've got a lot of newcomers. 2 JUCOs and 2 freshman currently start in our lineup. Might have some growing pains offensively for the first few weeks. Would love to take 2 games but I think we'll go 1-2 this weekend.
  14. I think Maia should take it slow before wanting a title shot. If he can improve on his standup then a year from now he could be in a prime spot for a title shot. I think Stevenson is nothing more than a gatekeeper. The UFC should limit him to UFN main event status.
  15. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Feb 22, 2009 -> 07:15 PM) wtf... Look for them tonight against Wake. hahaha, what the hell? I love when teams do these little designs that wont be noticeable to anyone that isnt on the court.
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 22, 2009 -> 06:41 PM) And yet it's still better than the Big 12. So they both suck then.
  17. QUOTE (4 points @ Feb 22, 2009 -> 06:17 AM) Can you say NIT. 8-8 in ACC play will get a NCAA bid. And since the mid majors wont be taking many at-large spots, 7-9 and a win in the ACC tourney puts us on the bubble.
  18. Loved seeing Sonnen lose so quickly. That guy runs his mouth way too much and Maia basically wiped his ass with him. I'll lend Sonnen my Renzo/Royler jiu-jitsu book if he wants to learn something about submissions. Marquardt looked real good tonight. He is huge. He keeps talking about a rematch with Silva but he doesnt really stand a chance. Sanchez had a nice fight. Wasnt really that impressed that he couldnt finish Stevenson who got dominated against Florian and Penn. dos Santos is looking really good with those hands. I know he fought a young guy but he did what he was suppose to do. Kos takes another step back. Guy just cant get over the hump.
  19. Nice 69-58 win over BC by Miami today. 5-8 in ACC play with 3 games we'll be favored keeps our hopes alive for a NCAA bid. Time to scoreboard watch the rest of the weekend.
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 20, 2009 -> 10:58 AM) Its not funny when you joke about something you were entirely serious about weeks ago. sounds like kjshoe is throwing in the towel.
  21. Kansas had their pitcher throw a no-no to start the season.
  22. damn, I didnt realize how many of Crede's relatives posted on this site.
  23. realtimerpi.com has projected final records, probability winning odds and projected final scores for each team in college basketball. Pretty interesting stuff if you have time to waste.
  24. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Feb 15, 2009 -> 10:12 PM) We re-aquire Griffey at the deadline. haha. I'm going to say Andruw Jones. Hawk will name drop Carl Yastrzemski's name 17 times this season. Hawk will yell STRETCH on a ball that doesnt leave the infield. In midst of a 14-0 loss, Hawk will disappear in the 7th inning and not return. Robin Ventura will fill in for a 4 week stint while Hawk is in rehab. AJP will have 4 ABs in a game and only see 4 pitches. Hawk will say "Show me a _____ and I'll show you a winner/loser" over 100 times this season. Hawk will have double eye surgey and sport Sox eye patches on both eyes at the same time this season. Walker is fired after 60 games and Ron Karkovice is named new hitting coach. Hawk raves about the selection.
