Watching Cleveland this offseason has been fascinating.

This sucks. He appeared to be as genuine as they come when it comes to the enjoyment he had playing. Always fun to watch, although being at the Trop in 2011 when he hit three solo home runs in a 4-3 series clinching win in the ALDS wasn’t fun at the time. But looking back, it was something special to see.

Awesome to see McGregor get absolutely dominated last night. He had nothing to offer and even got dropped. We will see if this is the end for him. He only wants money fights and besides Nate Diaz, those fights will end up the same way. And McGregor and Dana White started this and Khabib’s people finished it. The two guys who jumped in the cage afterwards should be banned/jailed/etc but this was started with McGregor attacking the bus and injuring people(something the UFC allowed) and the insults of Khabib’s family/religion. Watched the final inning on MLB Network. Definitely sad listening to the final inning. Also a little weird knowing this is the end.

I guess the evolution/technology of the form fitting jersey has a lot to do with it? I was skimming through the SNF/MNF schedule to see what games will the networks regret making them prime time and the upcoming Patriots at Bills in a few weeks might be the worst matchup in a long, long time.

Its exactly what they’re doing. Already talk of him being one of the starters in 2019 along with Snell and Faria. Probably use a 4 man rotation with an opener until Honeywell and De Leon are ready. He went 94 pitches tonight in 6.2 innings. Rough first inning with 3 walks and an error by Bauers that led to 4 runs, 3 earned. Finished by retiring 17 of last 18.

It’s the first tournament in a long time where I couldn’t juggle my schedule to see games during the week. Brazil was perfect i could see the mid afternoon and late afternoon games. I watched on the weekends but not non stop like I did in the past. Just weird feeling. I’ve said in the past, my favorite part of the World Cup cycle is qualification. The build up. Maybe bc I don’t have expectations of the US winning it but the different stages of qualifying is so entertaining to me. And i don’t mean just CONCACAF. But the games were great when watching though.

I watched about 5 min of the Final. Did see the dive that resulted in the first goal. Just couldn’t get invested in this tournament. No US and time zone had a lot to do with it. Oh well. Bring on the new cycle.

After last night, hard to argue that Cormier isn’t the best of all time. He can generate so much power at heavyweight Lesnar/Cormier is going to make a lot of money. Should be a fun build up. Seems like there’s a lot of respect between the two.

I know no one could plan it like this but the second half of this bracket is so pathetic. Tomorrow’s matchups feel like a world tournament while Saturday’s matches feel like Matchday 4 of UEFA qualifiers. It’s like the two conferences of the NBA. Would any of England,Sweden,Croatia or Russia be favored over any of Uruguay, France, Belgium or Brazil? I can’t see it.

How can anyone still be a fan of the NBA?

I was at the game yesterday. 11-1 at home since Bauers/Adames been called up 13-6 overall Those two with Alvarado, Nuno and Castillo doing well in the pen. Stanek looking more comfortable since becoming the temp opener. Fun times next couple years will be interesting bc they’ll have money to spend. Archer and Kiermaier are being paid $15M combined (until Archer is moved) and everyone else is either on their rookie contract or arbitration eligible. That’s probably $35M-$40M tops. Plus the new tv deal kicks in. Doesn’t mean they’ll go crazy, bc they never will, but they could easily add another $20M and be in good shape. And a $60M payroll will still be 15-20M less than this years.

How old of an article is that? If it’s a recent article then it seems like a lazy article. That may have been true in the mid 2000s through the the Beckham area but not really true anymore. Teams have figured out which players still have something left in the tank and which players are done and looking for an easy paycheck. Last year everyone thought John Terry was MLS bound and no team wanted him. Steven Garrard was a bad signing but it’s nowhere near the levels from years ago. And MLS fans aren’t that dumb anymore.

Mexico usually plays Brazil tough though but i don’t know about this matchup for them.

I wouldn’t have been that opposed to 40 teams if the lowest ranked 16 had to do a play-in game to be the last team into each group. Of course that means the play-in games would need to be about 4 days before the tournament really begins so that might not make much sense. Now if 48 teams with 16 groups of three isn’t bad enough, the top 2 from each group moves on. I can’t wait to see groups where team team is 0-0-2 with each game ending 1-1. Or everyone 1-1-0 with each having same goals for/allowed. Drawing of lots! Dumb or do they go the NHL/Olympic hockey points system and include a loser point and go straight to PKs to settle ties. I doubt it but still...

Belgium has been hyped up since Brazil. Can’t trust their coach to come through.
