General Mis-Managers
The buyout may be 9 million yes. But a team and an Organization has a Image to protect, it's all PR. Image is worth more than 9mil at the end of it all. So the rockies lose those 9 mil but how much more could they lose in advertisments and stuff cause they got a player who is out looking for 40 dollar hookers

Why not Larkin?
Good Reply, I was going to mention the same thing. Larkin had a good carrer and is/was a good player but it's time for him to say goodbye

Small Southtown Piece
White Sox general manager Kenny Williams made two moves before coming to Anaheim, signing pitcher Dustin Hermanson and outfielder Jermaine Dye as free agents. Williams is keeping an eye out for a No. 5 starter. If he doesn't find one this offseason, he has a few options within the organization, including Jason Grilli, whom the South Siders acquired in last year's Rule 5 draft. In eight starts with the Sox in 2004, Grilli went 2-3 with a complete game and a 7.40 ERA. Williams liked what he saw from the right-hander. "We recognize his ability to throw the power breaking ball," Williams said. "He has the power sinker. He has the changeup and the ability to soften up on the changeup. We'll give him every chance to compete. "We may also bring Scott Schoeneweis back to start. He fit the bill for us before he got hurt last year. We have some options. Adam McCarthy (a minor leaguer) may jump up and force us to bring him with us. We have confidence in the options we do have." Jason Grilli :headshake I don't care what ability he has, does he have the ability to win?

Angels Sign
Angels signed outfielder Steve Finley, who had been with the Dodgers, to a two-year contract with an option for 2007. Finley, who picked Anaheim over Detroit and San Francisco, will help the Angels, but probably not as much as they hope. He's overrated defensively, and for all the talk of his career-high 36 homers, he had an OPS of only 823 last season. A substantial drop-off at age 40 doesn't seem all that likely, but the Angels are getting just a good player, not a star, for their $9 million or so per season

Would you pull off these trades?
Can't play small ball if you don't have the players for it
