  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 12:31 PM) The 3rd fall of the NXT match between cesaro and Zane was really good. The moves they pulled out were crazy. Just watched it, absolutely incredible. Little outside the box but I'd love to see Zane brought up to team with Bryan against the Corporation. He fits the same mold as to what the corporation is against and what Bryan is all about. Then at some point they turn on each other and feud...good lawdy would that be electric.
  2. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 11:49 PM) And yet, he probably could've been had in the 3rd round. No matter how good Long looks, you do not draft any guard in the 1st round of an NFL draft. There were 4 guards taken in the 1st round this year...3 Before the Bears drafted. No chance they could have even got him in the 2nd let alone the 3rd. It would have been nice if they traded down a few spots to pick up another pick but in hindsight the draft looks real good regardless. Bears OL is gonna be working from the inside out, good guard play is a key to that, Long was absolutely the right pick and at the right time.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 11:07 PM) How bout a one-year deal at 2-3 million a year? He might bounce back. I won't cry if he leaves, I'm just predicting he doesn't want to retire after a season like this. Like I said before, he's not at the point where Carlton Fisk was and HAD to retire. When Fisk couldn't see the ball anymore. Konerko is not an embarrasment at first base. Maybe he's finished at the plate. But it won't cost the Sox much to find out. If you remember all this about me, maybe you secretly are challenged by my posts and like my posts. Were you never taught that a dissenting opinion is not always bad? It would be stupid if everybody agreed with everybody all the time. I also never said for sure we could have contended with AJ. I presented the possibility, that yes, the long stretch of losing starting with getting swept by the Cubs MIGHT have been avoided. Maybe the horrible defense and baserunning mistakes could have been nipped earlier with a guy like AJP around. We'll never know. We do lack power. Dunn has 28 home runs. Great. He's still not a productive hitter. Nobody can say he's a productive hitter and be correct. Why do I have to move on? Because I disagree with you? Great. No, I'm fine with you having an opinion, in fact they are highly entertaining in a frustrating 2013 White Sox kinda way. I just think they are often times outlandish and most of the times the common denominator too your foolishness seems to be your love for the 05 team. Which is great man, I love that team as much as you do but it's just not 2005 anymore. If they wanna continue to suck and rack up another high draft pick, which you are so adamantly against, then sure bring back PK. Chances are you don't compete with him at 1B/DH because once his back, wrist, or whatever flames back up you're not going to get proper production from a position that is supposed to produce. First base isn't SS or CF where you can get by on having a defense first player thrown out there, and at this point PK isn't even that....You bring up the fact that the Sox suck at home a lot and the fact that it puzzles you... PK is batting .202/.284/.294 at home this year...there's your reason why we're losing at home.
  4. QUOTE (ron883 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:49 PM) either that, or a troll I'll give the man some credit and say he's just hung up on 2005. He thinks we could have contended with AJ on our team, yet doesn't think we can compete at all next year. He thinks we lack power yet he hates Adam Dunn and loves PK. His love for Ozzie is also well documented. He's just gotta move on.
  5. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:23 PM) Holy s***, I had no idea Paul Konerko currently had a -1.5 WAR this season!!! 2nd worst player in baseball behind Maicer Izturis who has an incredible -2.2 WAR. But he played on the only chicago championship baseball team in 85 some odd years!!! and he can catch the ball!!! that has to be worth a 2 year deal!!!
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 09:58 PM) They are in first place and completely boatracing the Sox. Sox have been botching plays as usual, making baserunning mistakes as usual. What did I say was so wrong. Texas is so much better than the White Sox talent wise it is ridiculous. Its just your whole "I want the sox to win s***" that you've been harping about and then you post this....its just so frustrating to read your posts. And as Fathom pointed out this lineup isn't even that great. They had to go out and add your favorite player Rios to make it competent.....But it has AJ! he won a world series!! problems don't happen when hes around!!! TWTW!!!.....just brutal
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 09:36 PM) Anybody who thinks the Sox are close to contending needs to review film of this game. Rangers' roster is so much better than Sox roster. You're such a joke, it's unreal. I'm convinced you're just an 05 bandwagon jumper who knows nothing about baseball.
  8. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 08:09 PM) It was the right call. He needs to throw his hands up, and walk away. Once he digs back in it, it's live. Period. Meh, he did, ump clearly saw it and made no call so he kept digging.
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 07:32 PM) Rios with crickets and well deserved. I heard some cheering, don't know if it was for AJ walking off the field or what but there was no doubt some cheering. Ouch Sale getting roughed up.
  10. Who would you start as a 2nd flex...Andre Brown, Fred Jackson, Zach Sudfield, Tyler Eifert, Josh Gordon, or Ryan Broyles? Are one of the backup RBs worth starting over the potential of the other 4? Also is Sudfield worth hanging onto or should I pick up Heath Miller who's coming off an ACL injury and will miss a few games? EDIT-Just found out Gordon is suspended the first 2 games, so he's out.
  11. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 11:31 PM) Hey, win 22 more in a row and we're back at .500. Fun fact, if you completely eliminate June and July(and only count April, May, and August), the Sox are only 1 game under .500.
  12. QUOTE (MAX @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 11:02 PM) Also conor. 5 hits in his last 2 games...Would be real nice if he turn into something but I'm not really counting on it.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 10:24 PM) An incredible amount of swings and misses KCs bullpen is filthy.
  14. QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 10:05 PM) He had a few dunks in summer league? NBA Championship here we come! I posted that in reference to his weight, he doesn't appear to be in that bad a shape.
  15. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 09:16 PM) He's been "losing a lot of weight" since his Freshman year at Texas. lol well when you start out at 370 you've got a lot of weight to lose. Doesn't look bad.
  16. Fitting that Hawk just talked about how any fan can coach a big league club just as good as any manager in the bigs.
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 07:48 PM) He's kind of a douche. Well he's our douche now....(maybe, it's not a guaranteed contract)
  18. Why hasn't there been more talk about this Tony Bucciferro guy? Dude has only walked 6 guys in 79 innings, while striking out 86. That's rather incredible to me. I know he's old for Kanny(24) but this is only his first full year in the minors.
  19. No love for the Dexter Pittman signing? He's lost a lot of weight, and he's 6-11" with a 7'6" wingspan....Thibs'll fix em
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 06:53 PM) Konerko scratched. Danks is playing. Any reason given?
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 06:26 PM) Or Josh Paul Oh come on guys, have you forgotten Geoff Blum?
