  1. It's gonna take something absolutely ridiculous to get Q with his talent and that contract. I'm talking more than the Cubs/Oakland trade. I'm talkin Seagar/Pederson/Urias ridiculous.,,,And even then I'd still want a ML SP back and LA doesn't really have one they'd give up. Or s***, Giancarlo Stanton ridiculous. Q is probably a #1 on some teams, a surefire #2, and he's really being paid like a 4/5, that has a TON of value.
  2. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 10:14 PM) Semien since the call-up has been nails. I'd venture to guess he is hitting around .280+ with an OBP around .400. .273/.310/.436.... he's got 4 walks in 55 ABs ( 2 2 walk games) Edit- You already put up the stats...The updated variety
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 10:09 PM) I'm really concerned about the future. How do you revamp a bullpen and an entire defense? 2015 looks like another 90 loss season barring an offseason miracle. Keep calm man. 2 key arms for the pen would be huge. Obviously they can't "revamp" the entire D but I suppose you can take solace in knowing that there are 6 playoff teams that have a worse or mere .001 better fielding % than what the Sox have. And ya, 90 losses is just silly to think. It wouldn't even take a miracle to get this team to .500.
  4. Apparently the Sox clinch a protected pick with a loss, so at least some here (I can care less) will be happy.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 08:54 AM) Anyone on Fan Duel not able to see Cousins as a choice for this week? Donnell was the guy I was lookin for...That sure woulda paid off.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 08:32 PM) How is that possible when Ruben Sierra is your dad? Sarcasm?
  7. Breaking News...Huge Trade.... Cavs have traded Erik Murphy, John Lucas, and Malcolm Thomas for Keith Bogans
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 02:29 PM) How many times have we released Fiametta this year? Lol well this is the last time because they gave him an injury settlement so I'm not sure they can bring him back.
  9. I'd be fine with giving up one along with Sanchez, who looks like he could be a GG 2B if his bat keeps him around, and some lesser guys....Maybe something like Hawkins, Beck, and Sanchez with some lower level guys if need be.
  10. Are you guys just not high on Danish and Hawkins??? That seems like an awful lot for a guy coming off an injured/down year.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 09:36 PM) Maybe Ackley is the guy Hahn mentioned they were close to getting at the deadline? Personally, I don't think these two are much better than what ADA and Dunn were I'm not sure Ackley is better than ADA at all....Butler is just meh to me. If they do big things with the pitching staff I suppose I'd be fine with it, but am hoping for a bit more offense.
  12. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 09:00 PM) FYI, two players Rick and co. have big board eyes on are Ackley (LF) & Butler (DH). That'd be a bucket of suck.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 04:14 PM) Wow, that was stupid and made no sense and looked like crap. Ahhh c'mon Brian, it was a comedy match, that's why I added the lil face....But as someone who doesn't watch indy wrestling I guess it's no surprise you don't know bout that comedy wrestling...Its a fun added element that they add here and there. If you wanted me to post an actual match so you can see there is indeed selling and transitions I most certainly will.
  14. Aww man, I saw greg in the thread earlier and hoped he'd address the stats I put up...
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 05:06 PM) I like Sale a lot but if he is so sure they are stealing signs, he and Flowers can always mix them up. A plunking may be in order as long as it wasn't up too high. Flowers did come out during that Martinez AB after Sale kept looking back.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 02:08 PM) No. I don't like his pitching motion; I don't like his control; I'm not a Jones guy. I know you don't look at stats but.... In the 2nd half last year Jones walked 2.37 guys per 9, Reed walked 4.15. Not sure how they come up with high leverage stats, but Jones walked 2.82 per 9 in high leverage situations, Reed walked 4.31. Jones K numbers were also better than Reeds... 12.08 vs 8.90 in the 2nd half....9.27 vs 7.47 in high leverage.
  17. Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 40m Free agent CB Champ Bailey, who feels healthy, said he is willing to play nickel or safety if that's what it takes to land a job somewhere. Feel like Conte has played well when he's out there, but this is a little intriguing to me.
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 03:33 PM) Where's the selling? The transitions? Looks more like a dance number. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 03:29 PM) Those guys are great athletes but not sure how awesome it is. Looked more choreographed than anything. Understand they were just highlights though. It was like a 3 hour show consolidated into 5 minutes. Ain't nobody got time for selling/transitions.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 03:29 PM) Those guys are great athletes but not sure how awesome it is. Looked more choreographed than anything. Understand they were just highlights though. Choreographed?? Wrestling??? Never.
  20. Well ya, but that wasn't point of the video...It was to show just how awesome indy wrestling is and why I can go on and on about it. Battle of Los Angelas is a tourney of all the best performers from around the country and it's just filled with awesomeness (Including the return to the indies of Evan Bourne/Matt Sydal).
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 02:08 PM) Would this have led to Sale hitting VMart on purpose? I didn't see the HBP. It's possible, it was VMarts last AB where Chris looked to the OF a few times then tipped his hat out there after striking him out....It didn't look to me that he was looking at Avi/Eaton, his eyes were a bit more elevated.
  22. Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 4m We now know who Sale tipped his hat to earlier in the game. He thought pitches were being stolen/tipped apparently Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 3m Martinez stared at Sale all the way down the line. He said something to Sale. Sale answered and he pointed with his glove to CF ....I have no idea what is goin on right now
  23. well this won't help bring VMart to Chicago lol
  24. QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 01:09 PM) What was Sale looking at/tipping his hat to? He looked back towards the OF a few times that last AB. Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 8m Guesses so far on Sale's hat tip direction: White Sox bullpen, Avi Garcia in right or imaginary friend ~ Josh Norris ‏@jnorris427 6m @scottmerkin Maybe he's setting up an example for his word of the day. Jason Beck ‏@beckjason 6m @scottmerkin If he was trying to show Victor Martinez the way to Chicago, he was pointing the wrong way.
