I wonder if Reigns injury changed some things...Not sure how soon they were gonna go Reigns/Lesnar, but it was fairly clear that was the direction they were going to go eventually. -

There's no way to look back at previous lineups I had on fanduel is there? Because I'm a glutton for pain I kinda wanna go back and see what it was because from what I can tell it was on par with the guy who is on the verge of winning 30k. -
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 21, 2014 -> 03:26 PM) That was Danks' best outing in a long time. well-done. Last 2 outings he's gone 12 innings giving up 4 hits and 2 runs while striking out 11....Walks have still been there though. I haven't really noticed what others said about switching his mechanics, but then again I don't really pay that much attention. Maybe there's somethin to it.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 21, 2014 -> 11:24 AM) If they give you a lineup with a bunch of dummy players, that's how they usually award free bonus entries, I would roll with it Fantastic, thanks. I'm excited. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 20, 2014 -> 07:25 PM) Didn't practice re touching 2nd base enough in spring training, so Avi misses it , has to go back and it out. Robin is the ringmaster of the White Sox circus. Andy Wilkins is getting closr to logging his first career game with at least one plate appearance and no strikeouts. Sarcasm right?

Damnit Robin! Why didn't you teach Avi how to run bases!!!

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 20, 2014 -> 03:20 PM) Promo or do an attack angle. Would make no sense to bring up an NXT guy to job for no reason. I'm sure Rollins/Reigns had at least a 15 time slot...That's an awful lot of time to fill. Dude wouldn't have to "job" per say but he can come up and have a competitive match....Perhaps after awhile Rollins says "I don't need this, you're nobody" then just walks off.... It's certainly just wishful thinking on my part, I'm just over here playin booker. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 20, 2014 -> 03:02 PM) That would make no sense. Has Ambrose been confirmed? If not, what can you do with Rollins? Just leave em off the card? -
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Sep 20, 2014 -> 02:33 PM) What were his splits this year that got you so down on him? Vs RHP.....But also according to fangraphs, and I really don't know how it's calculated so I could be off base here, he's really struggled against fastballs. He has a negative 4.3 rating/grade against FBs which is down there with T Flow. He can certainly adjust and become better against fastballs, but until he does I don't think we'll see the type of OBP we've seen in the minors.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 20, 2014 -> 02:11 PM) Maybe we'll get an impromptu Ambrose-Rollins match tomorrow. Almost has to happen.....If for whatever reason it doesn't, Rollins should have an open challenge and have one of the NXT guys answer it. -
9 of those are at 3B. To me he's either A. the 2nd basemen next year B. Lexi is traded and he's the SS (Albeit in extremely limited time there he hasn't been bad there) or C. trade bait. I've expressed my concerns with him, so I'm kinda hoping it's C.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 20, 2014 -> 12:57 PM) You usually have about 4 months to redeem it all I believe. I think you get $0.04 for every $1 you play. Do we know each other? Because that's me, although I play Draft Kings more now. Booo, ya you're right. I deposited 10 dollars yesterday thinking I'd be able to play in 20 dollars worth of leagues. -

QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Sep 20, 2014 -> 12:11 PM) It's not an either/or thing. Francona is probably a pretty good manager overall. Managers, simply from a clubhouse attitude/atmosphere type of thing, cannot possibly be irrelevant. Look at what happened to Boston's clubhouse after Francona was canned and Bobby Valentine came in and tried to split up the cliques. Look at what happened to this team's clubhouse in Ozzie's last couple years. And that's Robin's specialty supposedly, but managing the game counts too, especially when a team is actually good enough (and posters here are right when they say Robin couldn't manage this team into a winner anyway). I think at best this guy needs to be s***canned before we try to win anything, and maybe at that point a vet manager like Francona would work well. Unless Robin gets a lot better in other areas of course. Perhaps I should have said irrelevant when it comes to defense. So you think Robin should be s***canned but we should hire a guy who's defense has been MUCH worse defensively? As you can tell by my signature I firmly believe that managers simply put their players in a position to win and it's up to the players to execute. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 20, 2014 -> 01:04 AM) What about overall fielding percentage and team uzr? Sox have the same fielding% as Oakland and Pittsburgh, Cleveland has the worst....again, the managers of those teams have all won manager of the year the last 2 years. I don't even know how UZR is calculated so I didn't quote it, but the Indians (Lead by the guy a lot of guys here wanted) and Pittsburgh have worse ratings. Sox -38.6 Pitt -41.0 Indians -67.3. So Terry Francona, a guy a lot of people here wish was our manager, and a 2x WS Champ is leading a team that is worse defensively. Is Tito a bad manager or are managers pretty much irrelevant? -

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 20, 2014 -> 12:30 AM) Joe Madden is widely considered one of the best managers in baseball. It's using the exception to prove the rule. Madden's teams have played above the quality of their roster. The Sox did not have a 63 win roster last year. The Sox pen has blown games...but the pen has also been under undue pressure all year due to a 2 man rotation (plus 5th starter Noesi). I hope that the front office doesn't miss the real weakness here: the rotation. They've also had the ability to develop pitching like no other organization. While the quality of their hitting had always been lackluster, their pitching staff had always made up for it. -

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 20, 2014 -> 12:01 AM) So Ventura is now Joe Madden Lord this whole show is turning into the Cubs. I believe his point was to show you that "good managers" doesn't equal "good teams". Hell, Maddens team this year is only 4 games better than the Sox....With a bullpen that pans out this season the Sox are at least a few games better than the Rays. Again people like to bring up the defense when talking about Robin, and I brought this up in a game thread the the day...The bottom 3 teams in errors this season are Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Oakland. Those teams are lead by Terry Francona (Last years AL manager of the year), Clint Hurdle(Last years NL manager of the year), and Bob Melvin(2012s AL manager of the year)....Now I know awards can be perceived as irrelevant, but wouldn't you say those guys are viewed as "good managers"? Why are their ball clubs last in errors? -
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 19, 2014 -> 09:16 PM) He also has 2 walks. Nice to see a young guy do that in our org. ....Those were his first 2 since being called up And Oh hey, Sox Win!

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 18, 2014 -> 11:48 PM) Then why were the stats used in the article? The reporter used them with confidence. But Zona willingly made the trade. Hmmm... do they know more than Buddy Bell? You like this trade? This is a results business. We gave up a strong closer candidate (he figured to be mighty comfortable in the role again this year on the South Side) for a guy who does not look like a prime prospect anymore. Maybe he'll be great. Did the Dbacks figure he was a strong candidate to be a bust? I happen to think a GM, if he is doing his job, at least has a closer in waiting if he trades a decent closer. I know, I know ... Nate Jones. I don't think you do know because you continue to discount that fact. I like how you avoided all the stats people put up...None of which are "advanced stats". You noted his ERA, again I'll say he has the highest ERA of any closer. You also noted his conversion rate, which is in the bottom 10.
