  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 08:16 PM) I might think about it in Hahn's chair, but seriously, when is the last time the White Sox paid the full free agent price for a closer? Heck, they've traded away 2 in the last 5 years. This team clearly believes as an organizational philosophy that they can come up with closers internally. When have they seemingly been void of a closer candidate? If they wanna contend I'm not sure Petricka, who I think can be a solid middle reliever, is the answer. Webb is probably the guy they had planned to fit the role but I'm not sure how they can have confidence in him after this year......Maybeeeee they throw Guerra back in that role but they haven't done that yet.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 08:10 PM) I still believe he should only be playing 2nd base. Sanchez has looked good so far and they seem to like Micah more so I have no problem with them giving him a look at 3B.
  3. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 08:07 PM) Semien come on. x2...The normally lucky Danks isn't catching any breaks this inning.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 07:27 PM) And I think the Free Agent spending will wind up being less than that. I think a lot of that depends on what they wanna do with the bullpen.....If they wanna grab a proven closer like Robertson or Janssen and a LH guy like Miller or Thatcher then you're already looking at 15M+
  5. Rewatched the Cutler INT to Kyle Williams and noticed right before Jay threw the ball Bennett had his arms up calling for the ball....Now am I just a Jay apologist when I say that Bennett should get some of the criticism on that play? Or that at least Jay shouldn't be as scrutinized as he has been on that play? He's scrambling around, sees a receiver with his arms in the air makes a split second decision and delivers. I know typically QBs shouldn't throw back across the field but it's not like it was all the way across the field. I am indeed a Jay apologist though so ya...
  6. Any guesses on what it would take to get Justin Morneau? He's 33, has 2 more years on his contract, and is having a real good year. I've read where they would like to move Rosario to 1B.
  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 10:38 AM) Fantastic? Not as horrendous as the last 2 weeks but still not very good. Well maybe fantastic is a stretch, but the cage match and the tag match made it for me. Orton/Reigns wasn't half bad either.
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 02:23 PM) http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/334150 Raw script leaked again Whoops... I thought Raw, sans the Bella s*** show was fantastic.... Loved seeing the NXT guys up and I hope, though doubt, they're here to stay. They could really use the energy those guys bring at the "Big league level".
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 07:01 AM) Had I not gone to bed this would have been my response....Well played sir.
  10. QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 11:15 PM) Damn it. This is a winner thread not a whiner thread.
  11. 8 game hitting streak now for Tyler (9 of his last 10)....12/30 with 5 HRs and 3 doubles.
  12. Haven't began watching Raw yet, but I will say that Big Show has been looking a lot more agile in the ring lately....Think someones been doing his DDP yoga....Wouldn't be the worst match in the world, but ya I'd rather have someone else face Brock.
  13. I've got an ex from Valpo, hate ND, and obviously hate the Cubs.....But I could really care less where they came from and it's a little silly to hate em for all that....I'm game for Shark as long as the price isn't too ridiculous.
  14. (Brian will really like this post) Went to High School with this girl and have been working out with her for a few months now....She just released her first promo and I'd say it's pretty solid.
  15. So, what does one make of the Miami RB situation? What about Sproles? In one of my leagues I have all 3 and McCoy (And Gore). Would it be wrong to start both McCoy and Sproles or Miller and Moreno depending on matchups?
  16. Bulls are said to be interested in Ray Allen.....Thought he already signed in Cleveland.
  17. Again worth noting that since August 7th the Sox have a grand total of 8 games against sub .500 teams. I'd say that has a whole helluva lot more to do with the team tanking than the manager. And I can really care less that he was a former player. I was 11 years old his last year with the Sox so dudes far from my hero.
  18. McCown has looked dreadful today. 9/16 76 yards 2 INTs 1 fumble at the end of the 3rd.
  19. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 7, 2014 -> 03:48 PM) I was really pleased with LDE and DT play today. Wonder how it will look on film As did I. Love Lamarr Houston but he was MIA today as well, would be interested to see what his snap count was as it seemed like Young and Allen were out there the majority of the time. Allen is gonna be SMC-esque if he's out there on run plays.
  20. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 7, 2014 -> 03:39 PM) As a non-fan, I say this one falls on the offense. Two really stupid turnovers in the first half. Ending up with FGs over touchdowns for an offense that even ESPN commented on how supercharged they are. I honestly think they are trying to get too cute with the offense. Stay vertical on the passing game as that'll open up the underneath for Forte and Bennett to go to work. Defensively, they did a lot better than expected. Can't blame the defense when they don't have the horses. The problem with staying vertical is their best vertical threat, Alshon Jeffery, missed the 2nd half. Missing him was huge. Teams could then bracket (A gimpy) Marshall and that just left Forte and Bennett to get the load of targets.
