WhiteSoxfan1986 replied to RME JICO's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 24, 2006 -> 06:48 AM) 2007 Chicago White Sox Prospects 1.John Danks 2.Ryan Sweeney 3.Gio Gonzalez 4.Lance Broadway 5.Charlie Haeger 6.Gavin Floyd 7.Josh Fields 8.Nick Masset 9.Andy Sisco 10.Kyle McCulloch Floyd and Sisco aren't prospects anymore -
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 01:54 AM) Also, there's this idea on the table regarding switching things to 4 divisions; They need to go back to the old names, and divisional playoffs.
-
Who's on everyone's list? here's mine- 1. Danks 2. Fields 3. Sweeney 4. Gio 5. Broadway 6. McCulloch 7. Massett 8. Owens 9. haeger 10. Russell This is off the top of my head, so If I looked into it harder it would change. 1-2-3 are very close.

QUOTE(spiderman @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 06:20 PM) Danks split last season between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Oklahoma, where he combined to go 9-9 with a 4.24 ERA in 27 games (26 starts). He has a career minor league record of 21-30 with a 4.20 ERA in 92 games (82 starts). Question: Did Danks pitch in pitcher friendly parks ??? The PCL parks are hitter friendly, and the California league parks (where he pitched part of 2005). He has always been young for his league. He has gotten off to slow starts at every level, probably needs at least another half-year in AAA. I don't like this trade, but I don't think I hate it. I'm a big, big Massett fan. He could be a real solid reliever for us this year. I'm not looking forward to the possible fifth starter merry go round though. And for all the people who have been complaining about are system, it's definately top 15 now, maybe even higher.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 03:12 AM) I don't want to be a dick, but NIU simply wasn't good this year. I would have been surprised if the game was close. I was surprised that Wolfe couldn't do anything. 28 yards on 20 carries is epically bad. I know, but then again there are a lot of teams that don't deserve to be in bowl games. NIU had a better team last year and in 2003, and they didn't go to a bowl those two years. The NCAA changed the rule this year where bowls with at-large spots have to pick the team with the best record without regard to conference affiliation. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 11:17 AM) Will wolfe even be drafted? He'll get drafted, probably between the 4th-6th rounds. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 10:56 AM) Wolfe has done very little the 2nd half of the season. I know Iowa shut his ass down and it seems like quite a few other teams have. If this guy was so special he'd find a way, even with teams stacking the boxes. He had a hamstring injury the second half, combined with the fact teams were stacking the box against him. We would come out in 4-5 receiver sets and they would be in a 4-3. -

Embarassing showing by NIU tonight. Granted TCU is good and I didn't expect them to win, but it would have been nice to at least see GW go out with a good game. -
QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Dec 15, 2006 -> 10:53 AM) what's on the un-rated version? aside from boobs, anything good? It was a funny movie..the first 15 minutes were terrible, but it recovered really well. There's some extra scenes which were decent, if you have a choice definately get the unrated. And you're right, the first 15 minutes weren't that great.

Bought Beerfest on DVD the other day, and it I have a feeling I will watch that movie over and over. It will go down as the second best movie of 2006 behind Jackass.

The 2005 Sox deserved to be mentioned with that group, but the greatest of all time? Come on.

Joel Zumaya-R- Tigers Dec. 14 - 11:14 am et Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski told WXYT-AM on Wednesday the team had concluded Joel Zumaya's wrist/forearm troubles at the end of the season came from playing the Playstation 2 game "Guitar Hero," not anything pitching related. It's only the beginning; just wait until next year when all of the Wii-related injuries begin to strike. The Tigers asked Zumaya to stop playing the video game, and he complied. Zumaya was pain-free during the World Series and should be 100 percent next year. Pretty funny

I'd take Dice-K for 17 million over Lilly or Meche for 10-11 million.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 11:36 PM) Um, the ACC anyone? Even Jay Bilas was making fun of how much coverage Duke gets the other day (I think it was during the Illini-Zona game). They were showing the upcoming schedule of Duke games on ESPN- Bilas-"Are we gonna start showing their practices now"?

Devin Hester is awesome. I liked the pick but thought it might be a reach, turns out it's one of the best picks of the draft. ESPN's coverage of MNF is terrible. First you have the all-day pregame show, the "teams at 20 updates", celebrities in the booth every game, and two bozos in Kornheiser and Theismann in the booth at the same time. I don't find myself watching MNF as much as I used to. Oh, do we really need two sideline reporters? -
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 11:29 PM) Besides baseball, there is hardly any of this East coast bias everyone refers to. Do the Knicks, Celtics, Nets, etc. get any more time in the spot light than they should? No. Do the Bruins, Rangers, Devils, Islanders, etc. get any time in the spot light at all? No. There is hardly any favoritism at all in the NFL, especially now that ESPN holds the Monday Night Football rights. College Sports? Who? Boston College? No. Rutgers? No. UMass? St. Johns? St. Joes? Come on.. Absolutely not. And while I agree that the NHL has more problems than just ESPN, the tv ratings, which this thread is based on have a direct correlation to not being carried on ESPN. What the hell are you talking about? ESPN is always talking about the knicks. As for hockey, I played for around ten years and I don't even get into the NHL. Part of the fact is that living in a dorm I'm not able to watch it, but even if I could I would never watch it. The NHL is bad, period.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 12:26 PM) Why? This dude is unproven at the ML level. What makes him worth a $15M per multiyear deal? He is unproven, but I would much rather have him for $15 million than Lilly or Meche for $10-11 million.
-
Let's keep our f***in starters. Haven't we learned anything from pre-2005? I don't want Floyd or Haeger in the rotation.

Is it me, or does Troy Smith look like Reggie Bush's identical twin? -
Score said the deal is for six million (total, not per year). I like it, especially since he was arbitration eligible anyway.
-
It'll be interesting to see what the #'s are, it's a bit risky to give a guy who has been hurt so much a three year deal.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 05:37 AM) I see RRod took the Dennis Franchione route in college coaching. You know, tell everyone how you are the happiest you've been at a specific school, your alma mater, how no other job in the world would make you happy....all the while getting those travel plans together to slither out the back door. Good luck living up to asinine expectations at a school where you will forever be in the shadow of an alcoholic, iconic figure. Don't let the coaching turnstyle at Uof A hit your ass on the way out in a couple years either. Coaches have to say stuff like that because of recruiting, that's the way it is. Fans don't understand that.I'm suprised he went out of his way to call in to a radio show though. What made the Francione situation sick is he begged the players to stay when they were on probation but he leaves the very next year. -
QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 09:37 PM) 16mil, wow. Free agency is getting crazy, the guy is 42. You have to remember, this is Brian Sabean we are talking about.
