Rangers Have Interest in Garland
WhiteSoxfan1986 replied to Jimbo's Drinker's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 17, 2006 -> 01:43 AM) The latest on the Sox-Rangers front from Phil Rogers: I read this on Rotoworld earlier, and I would love this trade, although given the choice I might rather part with Freddy than Javy. Would be nice to get someone like Otsuka who can fill in for Jenks should something happen. -
I wonder how long Cartman's gonna camp out

When will the Yankees come calling?

QUOTE(beautox @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) More info on Clippard from here Tyler Clippard, 21, RHP (SP): 89-92FB, Good 2 seam fastball Above-Avg 12-6 Curveball (75-78) average to plus change, plus command, Excellent control Would love to have Hughes, although that's not happening. Clippard doesn't really do much for me. He's more a #4, and we have enough of those guys. -
This would be nice, I get sick of playing the Rockies and DBacks constantly in the spring.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 04:57 PM) Agreed about South Park. My one complaint is that I don't get why their season's so short. I guess this week's the season finale? That was like a 5 episode season. They usually do their season in halves. So sometime in Jan/Feb im guessing the new episodes will come out.

QUOTE(R.Sweeney @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 05:32 PM) Danks would be a nice project for Coop to work with .Could have a chance in 08 with with up to 3 starters heading to FA . Danks would be nice to have, and he could probably contribute sometime in 07. Hurley wouldn't be bad either.

His albums are pretty good, and he was good in waiting. I wasn't too impressed with Employee of the Month though.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Nov 11, 2006 -> 01:24 AM) oh my f***ing lord, just got back from borat...my stomach hurts and that is the funniest movie i have seen in a longgggggggggg time Saw it last night, and it was pretty hilarious. There wasn't really any dull parts.

I don't think it's as bad of deal as you guys are saying. Say what you want about Sheff, but he could be the middle of the order bat they need. Sanchez is a good prospect, but the guy's been hurt like crazy the last few years. Whelan is a decent prospect. I still like the trade from the Yanks side a lot better though.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 11:43 AM) Rutgers, lol, what a joke. Hey, Shiano (sp?) has done a great job up there, saying that Rutgers was a complet laughingstock until last year. If Miami comes to their senses and gets rid of Coker, he might be my first choice. -
QUOTE(shakes @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 12:35 PM) Supposedly for $40 million +. I guess it's better than the Yankees.

Those uniforms are awful, except the black one is decent. What I don't get is the DBacks haven't even been around for ten years and they are already changing their uniforms. I actually liked the old ones, even though they were purple.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 11:02 PM) NIU lost an Iowa State style game tonight, now I know how Heads feels. Season over, since now our bowl chances died. I hate our stupid ass offense and offensive coaches. Couldn't believe the play calling the last sequence. -
http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/askba/262766.html If you scroll down there is a list of each teams free agents who could get them compensation picks in return. Riske is a type A, so if we offered him arbitration and another team signed him we would get that teams first round pick and a supplemental pick. I didn't think he'd be a type A.

QUOTE(farmteam @ Nov 6, 2006 -> 09:44 PM) Dumb question, as my knowledge of California geography isn't very good -- if that's the point, why don't they just move to San Jose then? San Jose is in the Giants "territory." The Giants can block the A's from moving there.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Nov 4, 2006 -> 07:48 PM) Is there any indication which teams have currently placed bids? I know the process is secretive, but I thought information would have surfaced as to the identity of bidding teams. I know the White Sox aren't one, that's for sure. They wouldn't have done anything whether or not Boras was involved, and personally, that's rather upsetting to me. I would have definitely accepted the risk of signing Daisuke. Trade two starting pitchers, insert Brandon, and suddenly the net salary increase isn't so high. Oh, but know cares? We're good with what we currently have. Rather go for it under this "window of opportunity" with the current rotation entact. LOL. I have to admit, though, I would definitely cheer for the Cubs to successfully sign Daisuke. For one, his presence in the National League reeps the obvious benefit of avoiding New York or Boston. Two, even with Daisuke, Cubs would only have a reliable rotation two-deep. Offense is still rather soft. Contractual issues with Ramirez would have to resolved quickly. Last point -- and this is personal -- I'd love the opportunity to watch him pitch everygame. The Cubs are my most hated team, but I would rather have him go there than Boston or NY. Cubs aren't going anywhere anyways.

Remaining Sox players depart La Guaira team

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 4, 2006 -> 10:49 PM) They should be worrying about their strike zone judgement and mastering offspeed pitches instead of about their old AAA coach and current 3B coach's part time job. Yep, so much for Fields getting some more work in left. -
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 4, 2006 -> 11:56 PM) Meh. Memphis has had more talent in the past and has done nothing with it. I don't think anyone can Carmeloize them. If Cal could actually get guys to stay at least 2 years they would probably win a title. It doesn't help when Darius Washington leaves 2 years early and doesn't even get drafted.

My Wolverines got a nice scare today. They better not take the Hoosiers lightly. -
Any news on Rose's decision? I searched all over and can't find anything.

I was going to see it last night but it's not playing anywhere in the DeKalb area

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Nov 3, 2006 -> 02:39 PM) Holy crap, that is a huge blow to Minnie. He never should have came back and pitched in 2006. I don't know the stats, but there are only a few pitchers that came back and pitched well after the surgery. It is definitely possible, and he is still young, so I am sure his outlook is much better than most. People come back and pitch well from the surgery all the time. He does need to fix his mechanics though, and not throw so many sliders.

QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Nov 2, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) Rose will decide November 4th, 7:00 between Indiana, Memphis, and Illinois. My money's on Memphis
-
Well, it will probably the same players, just like every year. Jeter will probably win another award he doesn't deserve. At least Torii Hunter won't win one by missing 2 months this year.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Nov 1, 2006 -> 02:46 PM) We can expect 2 more games like this from Duhon for the reg. season... he always does that kind of thing. He didn't top last opening night when he had a triple-double
