  1. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 07:17 AM) I'm pretty sure that one of the panels (the one with the picture of Tomko) is about him giving $100 to anyone that hit a HR off of him in a spring training game (I believe Borchard was the only one to do it). Yeah, for sure. I love that one.

    80's Video's

My favorite all-time video is Rock the Casbah. I appreciate that armadillo.
  3. A cow decided headbutt me in the groin today. I was fine. It missed, for the most part.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 08:07 PM) Here's my opinion on Gagne: I watched him as a starter with the Dodgers, and what I saw was a pretty thin starting pitcher with a solid fastball and good curve. The next season, he comes into camp, and he's this husky closer with a 99 mph fastball and ridiculous torque on his curve. Then, after a few seasons of stellar pitching, his body begins to break down with ligaments, etc. If this doesn't scream steroids, then I don't know what does. I'm inclined to agree with you.
  5. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 10:30 PM) Well, not that this bothers me, because the ESPY's are f***ing dumb. But the Steelers won the "Best Team" award tonight, according to this... ESPY's Live Chat Won't be aired till Sunday. Just found it typical. We don't need ESPN to tell us we have a great team.
  6. QUOTE(dasox24 @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 10:17 PM) That is rediculous. There is no reason whatsoever to have written this article. And why is a football player being asked to write about Bobby Jenks being a white supremacist?
  7. Can you imagine the outrage if they wrote something like this about the Red Sox, the Yankees, or even the Cubs?
  8. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 09:59 PM) Shingo was the main reason Tadahito joined the sox if you didn't remember. That, and the Mariners/Red Sox balked at the money he was asking for initially.
  9. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines We've found our solution to Cliff Politte.
  10. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 09:14 PM) Damn, I was am exhausted from sitting in my seat for 6 hours, I cant imagine how the players feel... QUOTE(Wedge @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 09:18 PM) Perhaps it's time to consider "regular exercise"
  11. Why such a Conservative estimate? I'll be impressed when someone calls out the real numbers -- less than twelve losses!
  12. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 11:17 AM) Are they hiring 48 year old men? I saw some lady, in her forties/fifties, who was being sent to Iraq. They called her a "fighting Grandma" or something.
  13. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 02:36 PM) Yup, now they are considering taking the Golden Ball away from him. I think that'd be BS. They should've thought better of it in the first place. I mean, I know the League doesn't give it out and journalists do, but still. If already given, it should stand.
  14. QUOTE(Drew @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) This is funny. Is it me, or does everyone who has something bad to say about AJ sound like a crybaby? That slide, where AJ slid late forced Phillips to make an errant throw, breaking up a double play and ended up meaning the game. AJ is a gamer, and will do whatever it takes to win. Without him sliding into Loretta Sunday against Boston on Cintron's should've-been double play ball, we'd have lost. And on that occasion, AJ visibly pushed Loretta while sliding into him. I love that guy.
  15. Wherever Ozzie goes, late-inning heroics follow.
  16. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 09:45 PM) Paulie also was at least 15 feet from the bag, so he really could not have slid anyways. Whatever, all I'm saying is he could've kept going and not just stopped and gotten out of the way. Put pressure on the defense to make a play. Anyway, let's rally to win this game.
  17. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 09:40 PM) I also think that at least 95% of major league hitters get "visibly pissy" over popups. Sure, but there's just something about the way Konerko acts that irks me. It's probably coupled with his lack of hustle on double play balls. Someone else called it his "suicide shrug of doom" or something like that.
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 09:38 PM) It's the All Star Game...you don't take people out. I didn't say take him out. Just make it difficult for him, don't give him a free pass. Besides, Paulie never hustles like that.
  19. If there's one complaint I have with Konerko, it's that he gets visibly b****y when he pops up, and he doesn't really run things out. If he had slid at Sanchez -- instead of stopping and moving out of the way -- he could've stopped that double play.
  20. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 09:09 PM) Yeah, it's bulls***, but who cares? Whatever Materazzi said, I don't believe for a minute it's the first time Zidane's heard it in all his years in soccer. If anything were that effective, people would have been saying it for years, and Zidane would have never reached halftime. I'm tired of everyone looking for the exact quote as if it were an excuse for what Zidane did. Worry about kids saying s*** on a playground, not about pro athletes saying it for the exact purpose of getting in someone's head. I wasn't defending him or anything. I did enjoy his headbutt, but only because it's the stupidest thing I've ever seen. It's got comic relief.
