  1. Gonzalez or Soriano for the stretch run if Boone can't get it together again?
  2. I liked what I seen out of Richard today; looked pretty good against a hot hitting rangers team with a defense that dropped the ball behind him(pun intended) in his FIRST major league start, ideally i would love too see 2 more starts from him before i render a decision. i liked his pick off move and the fact his change up just drops.
  3. well my name is beau, and some time ago an old band member decided that beau wasn't enough so they started calling me beautox; it kinda just stuck for the interwebs.
  4. couldnt say it any better than DJ 4 pitches 3 outs. Crrede making it look easy, must have "a crazy little thing called glove" on his ipod
  5. wow John is just pouring it on...and i love it...
  6. QUOTE (TCQ @ Jul 1, 2008 -> 03:37 PM) How exactly are we acquiring Homer Bailey again? In a similar fashion to how we acquired Floyd classic change of scenery 10cents on the dollar buy low type.
  7. lets hope so, lets put the nail in their coffin and get CC outa the central at least.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 1, 2008 -> 01:42 PM) What kind of insurance is a guy who has shown the last 2 seasons he can't handle the major leagues. Its funny on this board how guys get trashed and most rightfully so, then when it comes time for a trade, the same people trashing these players think they have value. MacDougal has none. If he did, he would be at USCF right now. two seasons? we acquired him in '06 and he was above average for us, last year the wheels came off for him and Matt Thornton; Matt has been able to put it back together. MacDougal has more ML experience and success than him, like shack said: someone with his arm, past success and contract has some value. Lastly i said June; and i didnt even say tearing it up hes been ok.
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 1, 2008 -> 01:07 PM) Why would a team like TB who has a lights out bullpen go after a bum like MacDougal? I can see them going after Brian Fuentes... Insurance Troy Percival and Al Reyes are huge injury risks not to mention Reyes fell apart after the ASB last year; add into the equation Wheeler is just one year removed from this line 1.34WHIP & 5.30 ERA, Niemann will be thrown into a bullpen on a first place team with very little experience and Salas is off the PEDs, and you have a recipe for a front office looking for cheap insurance that might catch lightning in the bottle going forward. MacDougal hadn't been horrible down at AAA in June not great by any stretch but not bad either, the rays dont want to deal a top prospect for fuentes. Maybe we could get a Tweener like Fernando Perez for Mac and Uribe and a bit of cash.

  11. Would love to see the sox move Uribe and MacDougal to the O's just to free up some cash for Danks and hopefully Furcal in the offseason
  12. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 04:35 PM) I like it alot beautox. Semi-realistic, and would be a really solid offense. Thanks i dont see a batting champ or home run leader(well maybe Q :-D) in that line up; but the way its built its multi faceted and can provide a power speed and good on base skills with stellar defense, Furcal ranging to his right could help fields alot. I really like the way this bullpen is set up going forward to i wanna see what Masset, Russell and even wasserman are capable of; im just glad to see Thornton and Logan gain a rhythm again.
  13. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 28, 2008 -> 03:45 AM) a .275 average would be a .320 slugging, which would be a .685 OPS. OPS is more important for leadoff hitters than a lot of people realize, and .685 is absolutely god awful. Even considering that, he hasn't hit this year - probably because the Angels outfield is absolutely loaded and he hasn't had many opportunities - but I just don't think he's a good bet going forward and I don't think he's the right guy to leadoff for the Sox next year. Not only that, but you'd be stepping down from a .900+ OPS in Thome to a .725 or lower OPS in Willits. I'd rather give David Cook a shot in CF rather than acquire Willits and depend upon him to leadoff for the Sox next season, and that's not even considering the possibility that Anderson is still on the team. Willits is overrated as hell because he can draw a walk. A glorified 4th outfielder. OPS isn't how you should go about judging willits, his job as a leadoff hitter is to set the table and extend the inning, he has that speed that we sorely lack and he isn't one dimensional hes a great contact hitter that can actually draw a walk. OPS doesn't work for every hitter. how is a double = to a walk?? its weighted evenly and thats just not right. OPS is good measuring stick for productivity to an extent but not role definition. The sox could use someone that can get on base and lay down a bunt all the while not being a liability in the outfield with their arm. Ideally this would be the starting '09 line up SS S Furcal CF S Willits RF R Quentin DH R Dye LF S Swisher 1B R Konerko 3B R Fields C L AJP 2B R Ramirez Give Furcal a 3yr deal with an opition for the 4th by year 3/4 Gbeck should be ready if not sooner and that'll make Furcal 33-34 when its all said and done. Or with all the money coming off the books, move ramirez to CF and Sign both Furcal and trade for Roberts esp if the sox miss the postseason to make a splash or sign O-Dog(i think he'll be a fa?) SS S Furcal 2B S Roberts/Hudson RF R Quentin DH R Dye LF S Swisher 1B R Konerko 3B R Fields C L AJP CF R Ramirez that lineup has it all, Id give Hudson a very similar deal to Furcal,
  14. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 01:40 PM) Anyone got any PS3 game recommendations? I traded in Xbox360 and a whole bunch of other stuff so I was able to buy the system, MGS4, and pre-ordered and payed off NCAA09 and Madden 20th Year Edition with the credit I got (too bad I couldn't get NHL payed off). I don't know if I'll get anything because I have MGS4 now and I'll be pretty set come July 15th, but I could use some advice. Anyone play Lego Star Wars? Orange Box? the show
  15. nice debut for russell 4HR nice.
  16. got the 80gig package last night along with the show and rock band, i must say im really impressed, i know have the trifecta (wii,360,ps3)
  17. 1.) Buster Posey 2.) Justin Smoak 3.) Gordon Beckham
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 16, 2008 -> 10:48 AM) Jaimito's Burritos? best buy.
  19. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Apr 16, 2008 -> 05:29 PM) I think Floyd would walk me, if we faced each other. I've hit pitchers who throw as hard as him before, and not all that long ago. It is just a figure of speech, however. I love seeing Pratt's disdain of Floyd has no boundaries. Floyd FTW.
