  1. well s*** i work right across the street from that location
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 06:18 PM) If they dealt Porcello it would be moronic. exactly, but they might have to save face with them being the second highest payroll in all of baseball.
  3. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 04:36 PM) Can't remember where I heard it, but basically they were saying that getting bullpen help this early in the season is not easy. For the most part, bullpen pitchers are cheap. So, teams aren't going to want to give anything up, at least until the deadline, and by that time, the Tigs might be out of it. Rodney's unreliable...Zumaya too. Should be a very interesting time for them because the help is going to have to come from the farm teams or a retread that is currently out of baseball. I can only hope the last jewel of their farm gets dealt to the A's in the form of Porcello and the likes of one of their MI prospects, For Street.
  4. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 01:53 PM) Hopefully more healthy than JD Drew...but I'll take that comparison. Yeah i hope Carlos can put the injuries in the rear view mirror. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 03:05 PM) wow...i would consider pat burrell a bit better than j.d. drew QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 06:06 PM) I think he meant when healthy. Burrell's more productive b/c he stays on the field, but he's .259/.368/.483 career compared to Drew's .285/.390/.502. Drew's got a pretty great bat when his hamstrings allow him to walk out to the batter's box. I did and @
  5. In Terms of Production is see him as a better Version of Pat Burrell, a lesser version of JD Drew but with a better attitude and a bit more power; i think he'll OPS over 900 more than twice in his career and play a well above average RF.
  6. Bold Prediction: If Thome, Konerko and Dye are in the line up they go back to back to back.
  7. me and my thugged out sox hats lol.
  8. Great Game, loved the energy and what OC and Swisher brought to the top of to the order. Logan look very good. Jim Thome is on pace for 324 HR and and 648 RBI; This season is in the bag
  9. NL East - Braves NL Central - Reds NL West - Dodgers WC - DBacks AL East - Red Sox AL Central - Tigers AL West - Mariners WC - Indians
  10. QUOTE(beautox @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 04:59 PM) Even though those teams were feast or famine, i loved the way those teams would just take and take. i think This offense is a bit more dynamic than teams of the past. Also if Josh starts at the hot corner I would be willing to gamble he steals 20 this year. Also a future OF of Quentin/Anderson/Swisher excites me especially if Brian has his head on straight.
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 02:04 PM) This could be like the old Frank Thomas days where pitchers throw tons of pitches in the first inning and then don't get out of the sixth inning, and we beat up on bullpens. Its pretty easy to envision Swisher, Cabrera, and Thome seeing 25 pitches in an inning. They might not produce anything, but those kind of innings could be the difference between a starter going into the eighth, or getting lifted in the sixth. Even though those teams were feast or famine, i loved the way those teams would just take and take. i think This offense is a bit more dynamic than teams of the past. 12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 11:00 PM) Willits had what around a .390 OBP last season. I'll say he's not going to put that up again, but if he came to us, he'd be moving into a ballpark that's more of a hitters park. He's got fantastic plate discipline also (I'll stop raving, otherwise I'll turn into beautsox). You'd control him for 5 seasons as well, the 1st 2 cheaply. I mean Jerry Owens puts up a .325 OBP last season (there abouts). You can see why people would be excited with a trade for Willits. lol i created the willits bandwagon. The time for getting him has passed. we have no room for him between Carlos Jerry and a hot hitting ST anderson there is no room for him.
  13. QUOTE(KevinM @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 11:57 AM) Logan White built what Ned Colletti is trying to destroy. Fixed

    Food Thread

Del Taco, when i used to tour it was the highlight to every west coast/st. louis show. Now there is one on 95th and Cicero awesome. Unfortunately I now live in logan square.
  15. Also his #P/PA was 4.41, having someone at the top of the order taking that many pitches letting Swisher/Thome/Dye see whats working for the day is huge.
  16. We finally cut the fat from our line up and a few people are clamoring to bring it back. If were going to get a CFer go get Willits: High OBP, great bat cntrl, great defender, and good on the base paths with some more room for improvement esp if hes in our line up. I'd bet that he puts up a 730-750 OPS in '08.
