  1. QUOTE(Capn12 @ May 4, 2007 -> 09:22 PM) Oh, to have a real leadoff hitter like a Willits. +1 all the projections and haters we're so wrong about Willits.
  2. QUOTE(SoxAce @ May 4, 2007 -> 09:16 PM) Willits doing what he does best. Willits = too bad kenny didn't make the moves last season when Crede was at an all time high
  3. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 3, 2007 -> 01:05 PM) I still got my Wade Boggs bobblehead and poster up in my room from the giveaway they had when I went to a Rays game in late July of 2005 right around when he was inducted into the HOF. He even gave a cool speech before the game. Best promotional night I've ever been to. thats pretty sweet they should've had like free chicken dinner night or something though.
  4. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 2, 2007 -> 08:22 PM) Walking injury machine and I believe he disappears as bad as Bonds in the postseason although I have nothing to substaniate this. Jones Cumulative Postseason Hitting Stats .288/.411/.459
  5. I'm 6'4 and that O line comment was right on target. my brother is 6'11 and my shortest brother is 6'1. My mother was also rather tall for a woman at 6'1
  6. The rays have some pretty awesome promotions and give aways and they're putting and exciting growing team on the field.
  7. jake westbrook being taken out of the game right now, looks like carmona could be coming back sooner than he thought.

  9. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 11:49 PM) Best case scenario here is he rakes in Charlotte, and either forces the Sox's hand in recalling him (very unlikely) or building up his value enough so a team like Florida which needs a young center fielder, will decide to give up some young pitching for him. But I think the Sox really have to look at how they handle young players close to the majors, after seeing what has happened with Brian Anderson, and with his attitude. i completely agree, i posted this over at SSS i think we see Brian get dealt to the Marlins. His attitude would fit well in that club house, and there are a ton of beautiful woman in south beach. For his line @ AAA i say .333/.383/.513 before he gets shipped off to the contending marlins. In all seriousness though the nl east is tightly packed race and its all about who pitches and catches it, the marlins can certainly pitch, with Hermedia coming back from the DL shortly, Brian and him would form a very strong defensive core down in Miami to help aid that young staff. I still think he develops into that 270-280 hitter with 25/30 HR. The marlins have a ton of pitching depth ahead of these two (#12 & #11 respectively by mvn and #15 & #13 by Sickels) and i can see us getting them for BA. The following come to mind: * 23yr old RHP Jacob Marceaux @ A+ Scouting Report * 22yr old RHP Rick Vanden Hurk @ AA Scouting Report Marceaux is a bit old for his level and is repeating it, not because he was horrid last year(3.99EEA, 1.40WHIP); but because their is a logjam of pitching talent in their system & they changed his delivery back to its original form, he has also been moved to the pen. Vaden Hurk just made his ml debut and had mix results 12.75ERA, 2.42WHIP in 12IP, he walked 10, but he struck out 15. Its pretty apparent he is raw and was brought up out of an emergency. If he can't make it as a starter it would be foolish to say his "stuff" can't play out of the pen.
  10. i doubt the angels trade Figgins. I'd rather have the sox attempt to get Willits, They've got a perfectly acceptable 4th OFer down at AAA in Tommy Murphy, and figgins covers all 3 OF positions too.
  11. Kruk just snapped on Phillips on BBTN with regards to Carmona going down to AAA.
  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 04:54 PM) It's Brian's fault the offense sucks. His bad attitude is rubbing off on all the other hitters. Now the offense is guaranteed to pick up! He can take his surfboard and flowing golden locks to Charlotte. bye Brian Cowabunga man, cow-a-bunga; oh god i said i wasn't going to cry but good byes are so hard hope you land with the marlins/braves/rangers.
  13. i disagree with regards to the yankees not being able to get a pitcher to help bail their weak sauce rotation out. Hughes is a no go but they could move Chamberlain/Clippard/Betances/Wright/Tabata/Kennedy/Garcia/Montero. If the marlins fall out of it i could see Willis being moved to NY, hes young, having a good start to the season, very marketable and could anchor that future rotation with Wang. Hughes and dare i say Igawa? sooner than later the marlins are going to have to pick between Cabrera or Willis, and its pretty apparent Miggy is putting up a HOF resume.
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 10:40 PM) None of Terrero, Owens, Sweeney or Fields are playing particularly well. Owens has been coming back down to earth incredibly fast over the past week, Terrero is terrible, Sweeney has been bad and Fields is batting .215 with a ~.630 OPS. to fields credit he has been picking it up as of late in his past three games (6/13) with 2HR 5RBI and a BB for the season .232/.349/.391(13BB/16SO)
  15. nice work. got ahead of hitters, and could afford to waste some pitches trying to get them to chase.
  16. 6-4-3DP, Boone you keep throwing strikes and youll make it at the show.
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 09:04 PM) 3 hits through 5 against a AAAA pitcher. lift and pull baby, don't you know that 10.54ERA isn't really telling of his "electric" stuff.
  18. QUOTE(max power @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 08:55 PM) Finally they give us the low down on jermaine dye. Diagnosis: "a little ouchie back"
  19. thanks WCIU not like i wanted to see the f***ing 3-2 pitch.
