QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 05:34 PM) Nice to see Fields is the next legendary HOF according to this board, following former greats, Jeremy Reed, Royce Ring, and Brandon McCarthy. He's better than Crede. And thats the ONLY thing that matters.
-
Like someone said before, hate to see it, but this is awesome. This is the only way our team will get better, an injury to Owens. Now we just need Crede to slip and fall and hurt his back.......
-
Someone said it before, but I still believe the only way BA gets more than 2-4 ABs a week is if Owen's hurts his groin pretty badly.. sad. But I am a huge BA fanboy, so take it for what its worth. Personally, I can't wait to see his flowing golden locks and huge muscles patrolling CF at the Cell... makes me drool.

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Mar 20, 2008 -> 09:54 PM) and so what? did jr come to your house and hit you up for it or something? Are you kidding? What an absolutely stupid comment.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 20, 2008 -> 12:36 PM) If they were so sour on him, they would never have re-signed him, but ignore the facts, back to your Uribe weight bashing. It was the right thing to do, to sign a starting SS to a "reasonably" cheap contract in hopes of trading him. Do you expect them to just let him go for nothing? No, that would be dumb. Just like it would be now, but oh well.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 07:05 PM) Are these the same waivers Manny Ramirez was placed on? Is it a certainty if he's not claimed he will be released? Those waivers are during the year, and a lot of GMs use that method to hide who they really want to get rid of, or to conceal a trade. The team has the right to refuse the waiver but then they are not allowed to trade him/move him at all. If he clears waivers, the team is free to trade him. It's a big confusion method.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 06:58 PM) So Juan Uribe-----------he gone. My list of guys gets smaller, a lot smaller. Funny

Pods Returns, Let the Celebration Begin!
TitoMB345 replied to knightni's topic in 2008 Season in Review
So Ramirez looks good today huh? A leadoff HR, 2 BBs, and a base hit. Very nice. I hope he gets his fair shot at second. EDIT: Eventually, I WILL figure out how to spell his name right the first time.. -
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 06:39 PM) And the only reason "your guy" Josh is here is because Dombrowski was willing to give up Maybin and take Dontrelle Willis. Mark Buerhle was quoted the other day as saying he wants Crede playing 3rd. I'm sure most if not the entire pitching staff feels the same. While we hear how terrible Crede is, what besides hitting a few homers, has Josh Fields proven? Lets face it, there are question marks for both players. I don't think anyone is denying that Fields isn't perfect, hes far from it. Obviously, everyone has their flaws (e.g. A-Rod in the playoffs), but the general theory here is that this team is only going to get better if Fields is playing. We need to give our young guys a chance, and theres less of a risk with Fields than Crede. His back is a mess, and he's extremely inconsistent at the plate. In my opinion, we need to end the Crede era and let the Fields era begin. It's truly what is best for this team, in my opinion.
-
In the end, I guess I am happy. Hopefully someone picks him up and pays his contract. Is that how it works? Are we off the hook if he is claimed?
-
As much as I absolutely hate Uribe, this would be the stupidest thing ever. What a waste of 4.5 mil, even if this isn't true. To shame.
-
Seriously, I am sick and tired of seeing our young players go to waste. Maybe someone else needs to be let go... and he doesn't play baseball. Flame on.
-
Hey, I have to be included on the list too! I love the kid, and I hope he gets a fair shot. And this has always been my stance. I missed his flowing, golden locks last year...
-
I truly and honestly don't know if I can take another season watching Juan Uribe at the plate. The guy is beyond horrid. He has no business being a major league starter, none at all. It frustrates me more than hell that he has a chance to crack the starting lineup. This organization is such a joke right now. World Series to a complete mess in under 3 years. Good job Kenny!
-
God I hope we trade this guy and just get it over with. He needs to go. Thanks for everything, buts its time to end this thing.

He's no good.

Report: Brett Favre to retire
TitoMB345 replied to greasywheels121's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Lol to all you people who say Favre is worse than Manning or Brady. Lol. Not a chance. Not a chance. Favre played in a completely different era in the 90's. Your boy Manning got the entire passing system changed because he whined and complained. Playing quarterback in the 90's was a lot harder than it has ever been in the past 7 years. -
Report: Brett Favre to retire
TitoMB345 replied to greasywheels121's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I am going to miss him. I woke up to a phone call from my dad telling me he was gone, and I nearly cried. to the best ever. to the heart and soul of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Enjoy it Brett, you deserve it. -
I will literally kill someone.

QUOTE(G&T @ Feb 24, 2008 -> 03:20 PM) Crede and Uribe have to play enough to be seen by other teams. If they aren't traded and play a lot at the end of ST, then there is a problem. Oh, I guess I was understanding the quote wrong. I thought he meant they would be playing a lot during the season, not ST. I am all for them playing everyday during ST. My bad.
-
So, Uribe and Crede both will be playing a lot? So will Owens? God, Ozzie will never learn..
-
Juan Uribe No one even comes close. Maybe next would be Carl Everett
-
Yeah, thanks Soxtalk. I know a lot of you don't like me (trust me, I understand, I have issues sometimes) but you guys still let me hang around. I don't post much in the offseason (don't know the minor leaguers, trade deals, etc. until ESPN tells me), so it's great to sit back and listen, maybe pipe in every now and then about what I do know. So... Thanks!

White Sox Acquire Nick Swisher from Athletics
TitoMB345 replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I like the trade, atleast based off what I hear from A's fans. But, what the hell do we do with Crede right now? Where will he end up? He HAS to go. -
QUOTE(bighurt4life @ Dec 13, 2007 -> 12:54 AM) Also, there's no way that PK or Big Hurt end up on the list. Anyone ever see Frank in his college pictures? He has always been a ridiculously large human being, if PK was using roids then he should ask for his money back by the looks of his body Exactly right about Thomas, no way in hell he's on that list. He was born a monster. I feel sorry for his mother. For the former, I'm goign to go with Albert Belle. For the current who I most likely think might be on it, Juan Uribe.
