QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 17, 2012 -> 11:38 PM) Gave them away? Tell me you at least sold them. Otherwise, that was pretty dumb. Have you never gave a ticket to a family member or friend?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2012 -> 12:39 PM) We said it there. *crickets*

I guess he didn't bobble it. It just bounced around a bit.

Its a good thing dayan bobbled it a bit. Cabrera didn't have a chance.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 9, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) Like in basketball, Marv Albert, Mike Fratello, Steve Kerr, JVG, Dick Stockton, Hubie Brown...dislike Tirico, Miller and Bill Walton. I like Jack Buck and Troy Aikman for football (I know he's not popular here), dislike Tim McCarver for baseball. Hate Dick Enberg, like Gary Thorne for the NHL. Dick Stockton? Really? I don't know what to say. He might be my least favorite. Bill Walton lol. What a homer that guy is. I like troy aikman too. I don't really like any of them too much now that I think about it, or dislike listening to any of them, except dick stockton. Ruins many bears games for me. I don't understand why the guy has a job. He speaks in a way that nearly puts me to sleep and in a rhythm that is odd to listen to. Every phrase sounds forced.

Did greg just realize this forum was here or . . . ? Greg I don't even believe that YOU exist fundamentally, and I consider myself, while I'm considering myself, to be incidentally a moral person, also not existing fundamentally.

We have him signed (option) next year for twenty something million. We don't need to do anything long term like that now.

They played some really crappy teams and will go back to their losing ways shortly.

QUOTE (kwolf68 @ May 9, 2012 -> 11:15 PM) Pitching sweet tonight, Jake has been amazing. Viciedo looks horrible. Clearly not ready for prime time. I don't agree. He is ready for the biggs, but a slow starter.

Home/away I could care less. At this point I think its just happenstance. I am encouraged by the performances of the individuals I had little hope for. This team is going to be over .500. Not sure how much.

QUOTE (Cali @ May 9, 2012 -> 10:08 PM) 166 replies for a winning game... Funny. A lot of people here are only happy when they have something to complain about. Myself included - I like to complain about those posters.

I like the way the refs are calling this Denver vs LA game. Nothing like the heat v NY games that I saw.

Marv Albert looks ridiculous. He is 70+ years old his hair has zero grey or white in it.

Chris Sale is now the CLOSER?!/Until he's not (Update)

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 6, 2012 -> 12:05 PM) i've been a huge kenny williams supporter. i've never been one of those who likes to bash him at every turn. if the search function worked i could prove that, or you could look it up. however, at this juncture, a huge mistake is being made. I'm not laying this all on you or on one poster in particular. I don't know everything that was said. I just feel there is a bad vibe here rooted in that illogical line of thought. -
I added him to my fantasy team for a spot start. Hope he picks up where he left off last year.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2012 -> 11:58 AM) Wasn't there a poll on here before the season where Reed had the most votes as player that soxtalk wanted to close? I think so. I know he won the recent poll on who should take over for santiago. My point is that a lot of posters take issue with kenny's foresight, saying he is wrong for everything in the world, even though its yet to be determined if he is wrong or even behind the move. Then in hindsight they say what happened, certainly happened because kenny did something, even though we don't know if that is the reason or cause, or if he was even behind the move. Its giving me a headache. Game is starting. Go sox. -

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 6, 2012 -> 11:50 AM) closers are not worth the money they get. how many have already gone down or lost their closing spot this year alone? it's in the double digits already. literally any shortstop can become a closer. however, if you've got a guy playing for the minimum who's pitching lights out, given up no runs with an 11 k/9 - your BEST reliever - why not make him the closer and leave your best starter in the rotation? to have him stay as a set-up guy does strike me as a waste when you look at all the other potential around him. I mean no offense, but if Reed failed, posters such as yourself would likely be complaining that kenny (the devil) rushed him into the closers role. -

It is absolutely ridiculous to say that we are wasting reed at this point in his career. -

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 6, 2012 -> 11:41 AM) True. You could spend a lot of money on a marquee free agent even though you've got Sale at the minimum. Yep. You could do that. We all know how well Kenny's signings pan out. Dunn had a bad season last year, but right now, it looks like it will work out well. What other free agent signings were huge busts? -

Why are people acting as if resigning either Floyd or Peavy or *gasps* another one of the dozens of free agent pitchers out there is impossible? Oh right, because the end is near. -

This thread is full of hindsight, and hypothetical situations condemning the sox for the wrongs they committed - that have at best arguable validity. This board is almost becoming unbearable in its negativity, and that is the primary basis of all of these claims that Sale was ruined by the sox. Relievers are converted to starters early in the careers occasionally in baseball. Sale couldn't cut it due to mostly indeterminable factors. His mechanics, and physiological make up are likely the reasons he could not make the transition from reliever to starter as so many have before him. Its fair to say that these were questions when he was drafted. This was a calculated risk in drafting him. You can fault the sox for drafting him, logically. But to be shocked and horrified at the thought of it not working out and blaming the way his roles were defined for him as the definitive reason that Sale failed as a starter (you screwed him kenny!!!) is just illogical. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 6, 2012 -> 12:28 AM) And then greg will complain that the White Sox are being cheap and disloyal after trashing him for the last 2 years or so. I'll admit. I've been hard on Peavy as well. But unless he's willing to take a big f***ing pay-cut (or a deal with a bevy of incentives), I don't want to see him back next year. At all. I think they just got rid of incentives didn't they? or wait, was that football?

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ May 3, 2012 -> 11:59 PM) I certainly don't hate them. I think Farmer is a bit dry but I listen every single night because I don't have cable. He is no where near as dry as hawk or stone. You aren't missing much without cable. I am thinking of getting rid of mine again.

I love listening to both Ed and DJ together and do so frequently.
