QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 10:24 PM) The Angels' announcers were just debating if the balk-off has to be the most boring ending to a game in all the four professional sports. Hard to argue anything else. Wild pitch has to be more exciting. Even a ground rule double scoring a run or the umpires waving in a runner on fan interference would seem better. Walking in a runner with bases loaded would probably be 2nd worst. AJ's play against the Angels in 2005 in the ALCS wasn't boring. It wasn't "walk-off" there, but it felt like it. Its far from it, in my opinion. All of the time based sports have worse endings that drag on forever. Like, downing the ball in football or fouling for the last three minutes in basketball. Its not even the most boring in baseball, either in my opinion. Much more exciting than watching a team go 1-2-3 down by 16 runs.

Does this thing tell you when you've exhausted your votes? I've been at it for like 15 minutes.

How Will Dayan progress in his MLB career?
max power replied to chisoxfan09's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Frank Thomas but shorter, with less patience, not as high of a batting average, not as much power, and a worse eye, but with lighter skin, curly hair, and freckles, and not as cool of a nickname. Also he doesn't smell as good. -
QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 07:12 PM) When was the last day that the Sox were .500 or better? 4/16/2011

These in game interviews are distracting.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 04:02 PM) Mine goes out about 80 percent of the time it rains. Have you tried moving the dish or resolving the issue somehow? That seems awfully high.

This game must be pissing a lot of cubs fans off on some message board somewhere.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 03:54 PM) Typical offense. We have some momentum and now we're going to get no hit? Great. lol, its a little early for that. They have hit a lot of line drives. They will start falling.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 03:30 PM) Darrin Jackson called for a DP and a pop up on the radio. He can see the future today. He called for Alexei's 2 run jack yesterday too.

Lets get em right here.

Good to see Beckham getting a little national attention for his defense.

Brent Morel walks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

Hit hard by pierre for a line drive out.

I wish he'd just shut up and pitch. Save this stuff for the clubhouse. He is just sucking up to the fans with this crap.

I'm hoping they persuade Mark to stay, and let Edwin walk. Its a damn shame we don't have Hudson here to provide the club with some financial breathing room. If we did, we could take on yet another major acquisition, though that hasn't been working out so far this year. If they let mark go, they need another lefty. Sale? Some free agent?

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 12:06 AM) "I wish I had 25 Juan Pierres" I threw up in my mouth. Ozzie also said (to paraphrase) 'I don't care if he goes 0 for 100, he is still going out there' yesterday. I think it was in respect to pierre. I hope someone else can fill us in.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 11:55 PM) The only time the White Sox should ever, ever bunt is when they are down by 1 run late in the game. That's the only time any team should ever bunt. Bunting increases the likelihood that you will score 1 run, but decreases the likelihood that you will score multiple runs. I'd have absolutely no problem never having the Sox bunt unless it is a late game situation. You wouldn't want them to bunt in a tie game, no outs with a runner on second, and sergio santos coming in to close the game in the next inning? I think I would. Well, I'd want a few of them to bunt.

QUOTE (earthshiner @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 10:56 PM) seems like maybe that loss in Colorado was a big wake up for the team I can't remember them coming back late twice in a row another time this year. It may have happened, but it had to be a long while ago.

All-Star Voting -- How Ridiculous is this System?
max power replied to shago's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It can't really be proven either way. I just think that its more likely that people have taken notice over his 5 year career (though he has missed a lot of games) and are voting based mostly on the fact that he was the mvp last year. So it was baseless to say that he is "only on there" because he was a heroin addict. However, his addiction problems may have aided him in votes. -

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 12:26 AM) Ugh, whatever you say in regards to the fixation part. And let's not forget that the guy has played just over 3 seasons worth of games. That takes a bit away from him being on the list of current guys with .900 OPS's. His current season isn't spectacular, and he's already been hurt again. Well my argument is this - he wouldn't be the first player to make the all star game based on results from a year ago. He would be the first to make an all star game merely because he is a former heroin addict.
