QUOTE (Real @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 01:53 AM) because they're brothers Oh, okay.
-
QUOTE (Real @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 01:49 AM) send quentin and danks (1&2) to ATL and rape their farm system Why trade d2 if we are focusing on the future?
-
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 01:33 AM) I don't think we could put together an acceptable offer even if we wanted to. They're saying the Rox want Montero, Betances, Banuelos, AND Nova from the Yanks Who is saying that?
-
That was a little joke.

Micheal jordan, but only when he was on the sox.

If I take it for what its worth, I find myself pretending you didn't even post it.

Sox/Danks have talked numbers but "nothing too serious"
max power replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I guess the whole picture would look better if swisher played about as well as he has in NY and meshed in the clubhouse. Jackson lived up to the trade in 2010. The rest of the team didn't. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 11:22 PM) History shows the guys we have scouting minor league pitching are the best thing in our organization. Then how did we under value our own minor league/young pitchers like Gio Gonzalez and Daniel Hudson? -
Which players will be traded before Sunday at 4 pm
max power replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don't think anyone is going, but the poll option makes it seem like I want it that way. I don't. I love Carlos Quentin, but I would be happy to receive a good package for him. I really think Dayan is going to hit ML pitching hard. -
I still don't think its smart to write off adam dunn.

QUOTE (gatnom @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 11:52 PM) Honestly, I think it's a lot simpler than you are making it. Win, and they will come. Lose, and they won't. I feel like under the conditions of preying on desperate teams the Sox can begin winning sooner, and, therefore, get the fans to come out sooner. In your numbers above, the Sox completely recovered from the white flag trade once they began winning again. Maybe you're right, and the fans get insulted by the management and become Cubs fans, but the numbers above seem to imply otherwise. In any case, I don't really have anything else to say on the subject. I kind of agree. Had the 1999 white sox been contenders, I bet they would have still drawn close to 2 million. Of course, this is all speculation and no one knows for sure.

QUOTE (gatnom @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 11:25 PM) The question then becomes, does trading Quentin for an absolutely amazing package constitute as pulling the plug? I don't think so, not with Viciedo waiting in AAA.
-
You don't think its possible? A joke on the rest of us while he sits and watches, laughing his ass off?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 09:52 PM) I think this guy really is a guy in his underwear in his mom's basement. Yeah, and he spends most of his time posting at soxtalk.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jul 14, 2011 -> 10:58 AM) This guy is arguably getting more by just giving the ball back to Jeter than he would have if he'd have kept it and sold it. Suddenly companies are lining up to give him stuff and help pay off his debt and tons of TV and radio shows want to talk to him. You are assuming those people wouldn't want to talk to him if he took other actions.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 16, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) Who do we cheer for? Split? Kind of mixed feelings. You want the White Sox closer to first place, but everyone's nervous about the Twins getting right back into it. At this point, I just cheer for the sox. There are way too many baseball games to be played to predict anything else. Edit: I'd also cheer for the royals against anyone else.

QUOTE (Real @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 12:18 AM) is this a serious post? look at his season overall... Peavy CGSO the tribe this year didnt he? his numbers still arent anything but mediocre He'd be an asset to any ball club in baseball.
-
I wonder what his first half, second half splits are.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 16, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) It'd be nice to see Flowers get a few hits in his season "debut" with the Sox. It looks like the big change so far this half of the season will be to let Teahen play against righties at third base. After Morel's woes, I actually am fine with that for now. Maybe the two should platoon. No need to start Teahen vs. lefties. Has he quietly returned to third base? Teahen has played at least average defense at 3rd from what I've seen this year. I have no problem with him there against righties. He brings some pop.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 16, 2011 -> 06:55 PM) Definitely nice to see that Carlos has the balance back in his swing. Things get dangerous when he's on. Good work Edwin. Screw you Fox. I actually thought fox had a nice broadcast today. A few minor annoyances, but not bad. Even with two former tigers announcers.
-
ESPN says he will likely start against the royals.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 01:06 PM) Didn't he throw a rehab start last weekend? Yeah, he gave up two bombs in 3.0 innnings. FWIW. No pain.
-
Well, I should have said I understand some of the reasons why people want him, but I don't value him nearly as high.
-
Rasmus is basically Arron Rowand without the defense. Not sure why people want him so badly.
-
Time for a win streak.
