garland and cotts
Lots of people tend to block out the fact that Jonny has become a decent pitcher, and he is only 23. With the experience he has gained at his age, I want him on the Southside as that #3/4 pitcher for quite some time if at all possible

Huge NIU Upset!!!
Well, the Terps looked quite disinterested in this game. Add to that the fact that all-world RB Bruce Perry didn't play due to injury, along with 11, thats eleven other players that were hurt for that game. That being said, its still quite concerning that the Terps played as bad as they did. Now, NIU is a solid team, but honestly Maryland making a trip to NIU was a nothing to win, everything to lose situation for the Terps. I don't quite understand the reasoning of scheduling that game.

With that being said, wouldn't you agree that Jonny G has become a quite decent #3/4? I am pleased with his performance, expecially after mid-May. Cotts will never last if he doesn't figure out how to get the BB:K and BB/9 IP ratios in order.

USA Basketball
Wow!!! I am thoroughly impressed!!! f*** the NBA, its crap. Also known as the National Work Release Program. I think I should market the NBA. Our new slogan? "It's the NBA, every team makes a run. You only have to watch the last 3 minutes of ANY game!!!"

Write this one down right now....Syvelle Newton...USC...thats S. Carolina for those not in the know. The kid is a QB, but with the talent he has, he is playing slot receiver as a true freshman.

JM
Yeah...really....we have SO much to complain about. Roger Clemens and David Wells get smacked around badly by our boys, and we outscore them at their place 29-11, yet there is nothing but "Fire JM" Threads all over the place....Bah!!

STOP!!!
Ooooh! OOhhh! I know what comes next after the thread title!! HAMMER TIME!!

5th starter
I'm not gonna blast your idea, in theory it does sound good. Danny has been pretty solid out of the Pen, but I think that him being there is for the best. Without him there, we have no long reliever for when some other starter gets hit hard. He and Cotts can't switch roles, because Cotts in the pen would be disastrious. I LOVE having Wright in the Pen, and right now we have no options in the #5 starter role, sans Jon Rauch or Brian Cooper. Even then, we are still caught experimenting in the middle of a playoff drive, something you cannot do.

It's all good!
Yeah, lets hope that the team that played in Detroit last series is not wearing Sox uniforms this time around. We went to NY, played the best team in the AL, and convincingly won 2 out of 3. And here we are, all b****ing about the 1 2 run game we lost. Jesus people, we outscored the Spankees by a combined score of 29-11 in 3 games IN NEW YORK. Be happy, they have dominated our division all year, and we gave them a little something to think about. ANd they still have to come to Comiskey, where we are 43-23!! Get over it now, because this team will lose again this year sometime, be prepared

What a great pennant race this is going to be.
Minny is the ONLY team that I am thinking about right now. KC's rag-tag starting rotation will not get it done when it matters, and we get to finish them off the last 2 weeks of the season. But vs Minny, we have to depend alot on other teams beating them. I'd rather see them lose every night than KC.

'Twas all you...now, the pic...i'll take a lil credit for that BTW, Jason-You a U of Southern Cal football fan? Got word that sometime in the next week or so, its gonna be announced that in 2004 and 2005 there will be a USC-USC home and home to start both seasons. Thats fantastic!

Tim Hummel 1 for 3 tonight for the Reds
Jason, that stuff probably happens all the time...Yanks get a solid lefty, with those numbers off of waivers? That just doesnt happen, sorry.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
We better REALLY be afraid of the typical "Day game, series closer AA-worthy lineup" that JM is good about doing, thereby giving us no chance to win from the start

ABC Reports Cotts to start
Bah!! Cotts will take his shot at winning a big game in his career, and Wright is rested in case he must pitch long relief. Lets keep Buehrle for the next series, don't wanna put him on short rest schedule.
-
Colon in 2004...
To me, Wright is nasty in the pen...don't let the hitters see him more than once, and he could be lethal. Cotts gets the walks down, we are in a good position. Este, Buehrle, Garland and Cotts...with 1 spot open IF, and I say IF, Colon can stay motivated and not sign with the Spankees

Koch and Paniagua sightings
Man...thats it..I gotta say it...shelf Koch for the year, let him hang with the team in the clubhouse....something isnt right
-
Colon in 2004...
Yeah...thats what gets to me more than something like Danny Wright going out there and struggling....Danny is putting the effort out there, and uses what he has in his arsenal. Half the time, Colon wants to try and make hitters chase bad off-speed pitches...Just throw the damn ball...I was happy to see him do so tonight. Jason-Hmm, what do you think? I love that name..
-
Colon in 2004...
No, no...Este is the picture of consistency this year, and deserves the money next year. Colon, OTOH....no comment Jason--Check your PMs

Kip Wells
Just wondering, what is your reasoning for him being overrated? Kip is having a very fine season this year. A very fine season, with a very bad team....I had my issues with Kipper while he was here, but I'd take him back anyday.
-
Colon in 2004...
Thats just it..."if he ever wanted to" Bart seems to only pitch well when things are going well, a la David Wells in 2002. Players with that attitude are free to walk away without me getting mad at all. Give me a team of battlers like Buehrle, and I'm happy. Este is in the same group, the guy just goes after people.
