Are the 6 cops charged all white?

QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ May 1, 2015 -> 01:37 PM) Man. 2008 was such a special year. Crazy that he has walked away from it all at 32. He can barely walk, and even if that ever improves, he will just get hurt again. What is weird is I don't think he missed much time, if any, as a result of HBP, something he did more than most.

Guys who are nothing but headaches in college, usually don't get any better in that regard when they have a couple of million to play with.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 1, 2015 -> 01:16 PM) Then you will feel superior so you can judge them, too? In Singapore, they have a normal intl airport and a "budget" one without all the restaurants and frills for those travelling on the equivalent of SW Airlines (Air Asia and similar carriers). Maybe if they call out those fans for being cheap charlies, they will either upgrade or not bother showing up at all for the lowest price possible to hoard all your giveaway items. Yeah, a sense of superiority. I won't take the bait.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 1, 2015 -> 11:54 AM) I cant seem to find this anywhere. The only thing close Ive found is: 6. The lack of trades last night was surprising, given all the talk. Problem was there were more who wanted to move down than up. So that seems to suggest some wanted to move up. The market may not have been amazing, but still I cant imagine that the Chargers wouldnt have been interested in trading up and getting whatever RB they wanted. Now who knows what the value was, but itd be impossible to imagine they wouldnt have offered 1,4,5 for it (which is what they gave San Fran). Pompei was on CSN about an hour before the draft and someone suggested to him the Bears trade down. He said the Bears could be up for it, but no one was looking to trade up to pick 7.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 1, 2015 -> 11:00 AM) Of course. Which is why I consistently said the Bears should trade down and accumulate picks. Dan Pompei said they were getting no offers.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 1, 2015 -> 10:47 AM) The Cavs are going to be fairly thin at the 2 spot and 4 spot for the first two games. They're going to have to play either LeBron or Marion at the 4 when Thompson's not playing. Jimmy and DRose have to be on. Taj has to be better. One problem other than Irving and LeBron, Mosgov is a really bad match up for Pau. I'm hoping the layoff actually hurts the Cavs.

The Sox seem to score 2 runs a game that won't work. The other thing that won't work is the current production of their starting pitching. Sale 5.32 Samardzija 4.78 Q 6.55 Danks 5.64 Noesi 5.23 With the way they catch the ball, it is probably fortunate they are 8-11. If they play this bad and are 8-11, wins should come in bunches when they start to hit and pitch like normal.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ May 1, 2015 -> 10:41 AM) It's just a matter of logistics. Our policy is "one item per person that comes through the gate," which lets us deny people with extra tickets (much to their dismay), but it's really impossible to stop people from going through different gates or coming up behind workers at other gates and claiming that we were out at whatever gate the person came in before. I imagine the issue is tenfold at Major League games -- you just can't memorize all the faces and, to be honest, if the person is willing to make a fuss about it, it's better for business simply to hand them another item and diffuse the scene. I understand that, but usually they make no effort to hide the giveaways they already have received. Just drop down a bunch of $5 tickets and say fill me up.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 1, 2015 -> 09:40 AM) To be fair to Steve I believe the implication was "top 10" first round draft picks on WRs. There are a lot of teams that didn't win the Super Bowl that drafted lineman in the top 10 as well. The fact that you are choosing in the top 10 usually means the Super Bowl, and winning it, which is another of his criteria, is probably many years away.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 1, 2015 -> 09:24 AM) Serious question for today, does Martellus Bennett get traded today? If so, I think the Bears can net a 3rd for this year and a 5th for next year. I saw something where the guys said maybe a 4th, probably a 5th. Fox said he wouldn't get traded. Who knows. I do think he will cause some trouble eventually.

QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ May 1, 2015 -> 07:36 AM) So uh... Why? I don't get it either. The promos always say first 20,000 fans or whatever, not first 20,000 tickets scanned. It always irks me to see on a bobblehead day some grown man with a garbage bag filled with 20 of them while kids coming through the gate get none. As long as they are talking loopholes, that's one I wouldn't mind being closed.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 1, 2015 -> 08:27 AM) I wonder how far Gregory drops. His mental profile must really be scary, because he is a first round talent He was on Polian's do not draft list. He mentioned he had off the field issues, and then quietly said that's not all.

4/30: White Sox at Twins, no crowd due to Age of Ultron

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 09:50 PM) You're cute Roster meant nothing when evaluating Robin in 2013 and 2014. It was the team's record was all that mattered. Why should this be different? -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 09:46 PM) Please find one baseball writer in the whole world who didn't pick Texas last, por favor. If its 2017 and they're still struggling, he can join Ventura on the hot seat. The same thing could have been said about previous Sox teams, but that didn't matter. Sorry 7-14 is bum material. Should have hired Gardy they would be 15-6. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 09:41 PM) Or just try flipping Choo and Nelson Cruz. Andrus has been awful. Beltre...not sure whats up with him, but they are getting production out of Fielder. Im sure DA cant list a single member of their starting rotation who is healthy without looking it up. Profar is out as well. Darvish, of course, the biggest loss...their Chris Sale. Daniels should be fired first. You have never used the DL when discussing the White Sox record. 7-14, $132 million payroll, nad. sale has been on the DlL the last 2 years. Abreu was obpn. Paulie was on in 2012 when Youkilis could hardly walk. Those were no excuses. It was all about wins and payroll. -

Even if Sale was on tonight, the Sox have 2 runs. The offense needs to get goimg. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 09:27 PM) You never aswered Ventura question posed earlier. Or ever. Keep dodging away...but the issue won't disappear by itself. A non-decision by the front office is a form of decision, and this goes for Buddy Bell as well. It was answered. But thank God they didn't fire Robin and hire that dope you liked that Texas hired. 7-14 with a $132 million payroll. He is awful. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 09:20 PM) Thanks for hyping Ubaldo Jimenez and saying Duffy sucks....oh well, it's never Ventura's fault, it's the "bad" fans who dont blindly support this team and manager for seven years and counting without the playoffs. Strange. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 09:09 PM) The talent on the Sox this year has way more potential than those Twins teams did, especially on the mound. So you are saying Quintana and Samardjiza, and Sale tonight is because of the manager? You have stated Danks is one of the worst in the league, and I wouldn't think Noesi ranks too far ahead of him. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 08:56 PM) I still say this franchise can't afford another 65-73 win season this year, so they need to show some urgency these first few months. A manager doesn't make 20 games difference. Besides, you have mentioned Gardenhire, and his teams averaged about 95 losses the last 4 years. -

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 08:50 PM) Dick Allen let me ask you a question: what does Robin need to do this year to get fired in your opinion? Fall 80 games under .500 for his career? Lose 100 games? Piss on a fan from a hotel balcony? I'm really curious. I would see how this year goes. Firing him now accomplishes nothing. Samardziaj and Sale gave up 17 runs combined their last starts. As much as you want to blame Robin for that, it doesn't make sense. -

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 08:50 PM) BS Williams picked him and Williams had a huge say on the extension. You said thie Sox are the worst by far. How is a new manager goimg to make a difference? Would Sale not give up hits? Would SamArdjiza not give up runs in Baltimore because the manager is different? -

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 08:47 PM) I think Hahn wants to pick his own manager sooner than later. Hahn gave Robin an extension. He has his own manager. -

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 08:43 PM) Another anecdote about Robin and Eaton from spring...Robin was doing a pre game interview with the opposing team's color guy and they asked him about Eaton. Robin said "He's going to leadoff and play CF for us, hopefully in 150 plus games". He said it so matter of factly that I had to watch it again. He said it almost like Eaton was...a family member or something. I really think Robin is a nice guy but he's way, way, way too nice for this gig. Nobody fears the manager, it's obvious. And why should they. I refuse to believe that MLB players are this dumb on a nightly basis. We've seen it for the better part of 3 years now. Time to give him the hook. Wow! Robin said Eaton was the leadoff hitter and CF and hopefully will play in 150 or more games? You definitely have to fire him for that. That is just crazy. joe Maddon would never say something like that. The players just fear him.
