  1. BR says $10.333 million. I think you could get Gallo for that or less. Benetendi slightly more but not enough where anyone in their right mind trying to win would say can’t do. Eloy is the only position player in the core they could trade, get something worthwhile back, and reasonably replace. I personally would hate to see him go.
  2. The one guy I see possibly going from that list is Eloy. And it could blow up in their faces. If he plays 145 games, he’s a 40 homer guy. Something they desperately need. But , if it takes him 2 or 3 seasons to play 145 games, not good. I could see them trading Eloy and using the savings, signing a guy like Gallo or Benetendi who has no power, but does something else the Sox need, work a count.
  3. The White Sox have to stop acting like they are the Pirates or Marlins.
  4. Hahn doing nothing at the trade deadline, and perhaps the teams most popular player leaving you think would give this organization big incentive to make some news. And they will wonder about fan apathy.
  5. Exactly. It’s pathetic. At least have a plan, and several back ups. I don’t understand how a team supposedly in the contention window thinks another GM is going to propose something to help the White Sox win.
  6. The Padres gave It a shot for Judge. Machado has his opt out after next season which , unless he gets hurt, he will opt out. He will easily be able to beat the 5 and $150 million that will be left on the deal. Sox were worried about year 8. Clowns.
  7. That makes a lot of sense. A few guys available that throw hard, k a lot of guys. See what Katz can do with their command in spring training. If he can’t do anything it was still worth the gamble. Makes no sense to pass.
  8. You need a foodie Twitter account. This is dead on. Nice source.
  9. Josh Bells career high fWAR is 2.1. As Krueger would say on Seinfeld, I'm not worried about it.
  10. A deadline and incentive to sign the big boys. Maybe waive the QO loss if they are signed either before the meetings to spur the trade market. Or at least by its end. Such a lost opportunity.
  11. The current host on MLBN is a White Sox fan. They just discussed the team. Hes more depressed than any of us and is flabbergasted at their lack of aggression. Said this is the most significant offseaon of his lifetime
  12. They are discussing Rodon on MLBN and they are showing how he has changed his mechanics. Uses his legs a lot more these days.
  13. 81-81 with no money to improve the team is the epitome of mired in mediocrity.
  14. What they needed to do was send Tony home then.
  15. The problem with this guy is he seems to be suited to be a DH. But I was reading up on him, and he has a great BB/K RATIO. Only Ichiro really compares.
  16. You weren’t going to get playoff victories in the years of the rebuild if they were trying to win. They would be beyond godawful right now. At least there is talent on the team.
  17. I looked back at White Sox 2nd round picks. It is amazing. In the last 52 years, their best pick by career WAR is Bob Wickman at 16,9. Second is Jeff Weaver at 15.2. He didn’t sign. Third is Ryan Sweeney at a little over 6. Fourth is Trace Thompson a little over 3. Fifth is Jeremy Reed. Slightly over 2. The last 3 acumilated most of it with other teams. in the last 52 years, the White Sox 2nd round pick who put up the most WAR in a White Sox uniform is Jake Petricka. Below 2 for his career.
  18. There’s risk. He missed time last year. So something changed. He usually wore a sleeve on his elbow when he warmed up in the bullpen, but always took it off before he got into the game.
  19. When Hahn brings up Swarzak and Holland as examples of after the meetings moves, that’s the kind of crap we are looking at. Swarzak wasn’t bad but was flipped for garbage. Holland was a waste of $6 million and released. So they are looking for bargains. Guys desperate for a job. Can’t wait to congratulate Rick at the parade.
  20. And he said it’s been torn for years, which means there is probably no way his contract is insured.
  21. So by deduction you have Burger, Eloy, maybe Hendriks, maybe Sheets and a few minor leaguers as guys Hahn might trade to fill holes. we know he isn’t trading Vaughn or TA. Moncada and Yaz will get him nothing, I can’t imagine he would get rid of Robert, for a team that needs home runs, letting Eloy go would be risky. Plus he’s a pretty popular teammate.
